I’m so thrilled to see this event grow, to see more and more people join our community, to feel safe trying something new, whether that’s new costumers, new to historical, any of it!! I love that people feel comfortable to be themselves with us, to come and learn and play dress up in a safe and respectful and joyful environment

Gigi has really done such an incredible thing for the historical community by creating this organization and hosting these events where BIPOC and gender non conforming and disabled costumers feel safe and welcome to venture into a space that can be pretty intimidating to join if you don’t fit the mold

I’ve been doing fewer and fewer events as I adjust to the limits my body sets for me, but Costumers of Color events will always be a high priority for me because I just love the space that we’ve made with each other

Shoutout to @pearlhourglass @sionnach.studios @soulaani.seamstress @notyourmommashistory for the awesome programming during the symposium, @girl_with_the_blue_hair for the beautiful photography, @cosmic.reys.cosplay for the videography, and @once_upon_a_stitch @sweetheart_cosplays and @princeofsnarkcosplay for being the best roomies!!

Cutest cosplay group? Cutest cosplay group! Honored to be the Cinderelly for @royalberrycosplay 's mice group at ECCC this year 😊🐭

Most of this dress was a stash build (which felt correct) but I didn't have any darker pink, so it was one of my goals for my recent trip to the LA fashion district. We were at the last stop before going home for the day and @stephpipercosplay found the perfect one for $5/yard!! Literally could not have done it without my mice 💖

I had a lovely time today with @whitleyswhimsies and @brianneopal at the Bridgerton tea at @sweetthemesbakery_kent ! This is the third tea I've attended there, and each one has been delicious. I love a themed costumed tea, and I'm excited for Bridgerton season 4 to start this week! (Next time, I just have to remember to take a pic of our tea spread before we eat half of it)

12 months. 12 photos. So many memories.

2025 somehow has been both the longest year ever and also over in the blink of an eye. It’s easy for me to look back on this year and dwell on a lot of hard times. Apart from the general nightmare of world politics, there was work stress, projects with tight deadlines, emotional turmoil, and some of the worst mental health I’ve had in years. But looking back, there were some amazing things too, and I’d rather focus on those:

Jan: I finally got Ulmo complete enough to submit for the Crown
Feb: Eiselcross photoshoot and spending time with some of my favorite people in the world
Mar: Debuting Ulmo after two years of work and winning the Crown!
Apr: Started working on the garments for a second wedding ensemble
May: Finishing my 16th cent kit and doing my first fiber arts guild event
Jun-Aug: Getting to spend time with my dear cousin @andrea.crisalli while making her wedding gown
Sept: Finishing the gown and getting to see Andrea get married!
Oct: 18th century chaos at the Global Salon
Nov: making Hal’s doublet for my first new CR cosplay in years
Dec: Working on Ulmo upgrades, like this cropped quilted gambeson
.
While I’m not sorry to see 2025 coming to a close, I am very grateful for the many wonderful moments that it brought me.
