The Art of Vanity: 'I Owe It To Myself'

**Long Post Incoming**

Some people know this, but many more do not. Earlier this month, I left my role as Director of Global Learning & Development to pursue my art full-time. I wasn't fired, pushed out, nor asked to leave. I made a conscious decision to bet on myself and my art.

This is why every order, every share, and every show of support means so much to me.

I'll dive more into the journey another time. For now, I want to talk about this piece I completed today, which is incredibly special to me. It’s the first piece of art I’ve created as a full-time artist.

This is a self-portrait and a visualization of how I felt at the tail end of my career: burned out. It's a reminder to myself that I'm not a candle. I'm not living to burn myself out. I realized I wasn't doing what I was most passionate about, and I was no longer in a role that fulfilled or recharged me. I needed more than just a break—I needed a change. After rediscovering my passion for art last year, I saw a clear path forward for where I want to go. I'm now in my second week as a professional artist. I just want to say thank you for coming along on my journey. I'm excited to see where it leads. ❤️🥂
