I turned 🤫30🤫 a year ago and dare I say it was my best year ever? I spent my birthday at the bottom of the grand canyon with friends who made me moose party hats and blueberry crumble on a camp stove. I thought it’d all be downhill from there, but boy am I a lucky gal!!!

while I was 🤫30🤫, I spent a lot of quality time with people I love. I saw sunrises and sunsets and rainbows. I drove and hiked many miles by myself and with my friends. I baked lots of goodies. I did one actual pull up. I knit sweaters and sewed pants. I goofed with my cousins and their kids. I visited friends I hadn’t seen in a while. I went to the olympics?!? I rafted and canoed and biked and via ferrata-ed. I family-hugged a bunch. I got to see loml beyoncé twice 😭😭 I had fun sleepover chats with my friends. I cooked for people and had people cook for me. I hiked on a glacier to an icefall. I sang and danced with friends. I ate a lot of pb&js and ramen by the water. I saw the aspen trees turn golden. I coerced people into answering personal questions on long hikes. I saw bears and wolves and moose and owls and bunnies and prairie dogs and manatees and turtles and ponies and bison and frogs.

I also doom scrolled and overthought things and watched a stupid amount of reality tv and kept fruitlessly calling my senators and had bad haircuts and bad acne and fell while getting off a horse and was probably too mean to my mom and nearly had a panic attack while trying to park my car in brooklyn and sweat so much that I thought my water bottle was leaking

but overall, I guess being 30 wasn’t so scary (31 on the other hand…)

so here’s my phone’s highlight reel from a year that I was fearful of. I feel so loved and grateful and privileged

Went up to Mormonland to visit the true love of my life, @brianwo_

What an incredible time seeing land that goes up and down instead of staying flat.
