When history recognizes history.

On the campus of Tuskegee University, history makers Toree Davis and Syrai Bryant had the opportunity to share their journeys with acclaimed producer and storyteller @willpowerpacker.

They spoke about what drew them to Tuskegee—and what it means to help build the university’s first NCAA men’s and women’s soccer programs. Then Will reflected their stories back to them, capturing the purpose, courage and possibility behind the paths they chose.

This is what Unveiling History is about: preserving the moments when young people realize they are not simply witnessing history. They are creating it.

Thank you, @willpowerpacker, for listening, encouraging and recognizing these two history makers.

They weren’t simply walking to a match. They walked into history.

On August 17, Tuskegee University’s first men’s soccer team carried the weight of a powerful legacy onto the field for the program’s first exhibition.

The names and faces may be new, but the spirit is unmistakably Tuskegee: courage, purpose and the determination to create a path where none existed before.

This is how a legacy begins—one step, one player and one first at a time.

Near or far, it's Coleman love wherever we are!

BACKSTORY: It was 1983, when I became enamored by the incomparable Delores Egeston. Although her son Brian Egeston (pictured) and I were classmates, she treated me like a daughter. I watched her run a household, command the PTA, foster relationships in the community and serve as President of the Little Rock Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Soror Egeston pledged my sister Millie Pruitt-Goins. She is the reason LaTrisha Goode-Simmons and I are Deltas! She told Brian that he 'BETTER NOT' bring home anybody other than a Delta!

He listened to his mother. Soror Latise Egeston is beautiful, smart and embodies all the virtues of a Proverbs 31 woman.

Thank you Brian, Soror Christie Egeston and Sneaker King for sharing your mother with me. She truly is the GOAT! #dstmoment
