I don’t post much about my life outside of real estate. This weekend gave me a reason to.

My business partner Antonio got married 🥂
I’ve known him six years. Been in business with him for four. Most of that time we kept our heads down and worked. This weekend was one of the first times in recent memory I actually stopped and thought. About these four years and about life

Here’s what hit me.

When we started, we were grinding for ourselves. Nicer place to live. Nicer car. Eat out more. Me, me, me

Then you start a business and learn something fast. It is hard. Really, really hard. Everything takes longer than it should. Everything is heavier than it should be. The number of problems that get dropped on you, the kind that make your stomach drop and your hands go cold, is a lot.

And if the only reason you’re doing it is for yourself, for a slightly nicer life, it is not worth it. Not even close. If that was the goal I’d go work a 9 to 5 and call it a day.

So why keep going.

Because one day it wasn’t about us anymore

One day it switched and we realized we’re not doing this for us. We’re doing it for our kids who aren’t born yet. For the family that comes after them. For grandkids who don’t even exist yet.

That’s the ONLY version of this where the suffering makes sense.

If it's for you and you only, when shit gets real, you will not have a strong enough “why” to make you keep going. whether it’s for your family or your community, it just cannot be about you.

Lastly…

None of what you see on my page happens without Antonio. So with that, a huge thank you to his wife for the support you give him.

Congrats you two. This is just the start.
