Induction Ceremony into the Little Brick Hall of Fame

I was stunned to be recognized at Brickomanie alongside the wonderfully talented and inspirational builder Jean Bédard @bed007_bricks

Jean was selected as the 2024 inductee for leading the charge in many amazing builds, most importantly, the collaboration between the Fortress of Louisbourg (situated in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) and 'Louisbrick' , a collective of amazing builders from @quelug. I am so happy to have been there to see Jean recognized for all his efforts.

Much to my surprise, I was honoured for the work I have done in elevating the Eastern Canadian LEGO Community. By refining the lens of the @maritimelug lighthouse, it has brought great attention to the talented folks that I proudly represent. I've shone that light as far afield as I can, but it shines brightest at @brickomanie.ca and @bricksinthesix and alongside @quelug and @officialtorolug . Building bonds with these wonderful neighbours has been an utter joy.

Just as rising tides lift all boats, a vibrant community makes every day better. Cheers to all of the hard working Canadian LEGO LUGs, all the creative Brick Artists, all the supporters, families and friends.

Special thanks to Graeme Dymond @dymondbricks for the wonderful speech, in French too! Graeme deserves all the accolades but hands them to others instead.

Thanks to Mike Onoufriou for being such a dedicated and enduring leader of ToroLUG. Mike has been a great sounding board over the past years.

Thanks to Patrick Bégin @begin.patrick for being such an inspiring Ambassador and 'brickmate' for me. Patrick was the first 'out-of-towner' who came to show me support at the very first @HFXBRXPLOSION and that gesture is held close to my heart.

Thanks to Carol Robinson for pressuring me into going to my first LEGO convention and Patrick Bougoin @wharfratbuilds for giving me my first brick badge in preparation. See what you two have created!

I must mention @steinmanzachary for his heart, @bricksbythesea for his perseverance, @littlelori95 for her kindness, @si_mocs for his attention, @brickinnick for his earnestness, @edgelessabyss for his wisdom... But I'm out of characters....

Completely unexpected and honored to receive “Blockbuster” award for

“Mech it Up”

at this year’s @brickcan convention in Vancouver Canada.

This is the second time I have displayed a non art piece. Building this Mech for the @letsbuildseries has been one of my most fun and favorite creations.

Thank you @brickcan for an amazing experience and new inspiration. 🌻

I'm going on a journey! I just need to snap more photos and wrap it up before I head off to @brickcan . I feel fortunate to have 3 Lego events within a drivable distance. 1st time from BrickCan and 1st con of 2025.
Other than the local #spslug and @sealug Conventions are such a great way to connect with other builders and that is what I look forward to most. Seeing what others have created in person is such inspiration for new #legotechniques to try or ideas to build.

What’s this, you ask? Well, every year at BrickCan they run an Elite Speed Build event. Unlike regular speed builds a select few of us are given the set number in advance so we can practice and memorize it during the week leading up to the convention. It’s usually a diabolical set selection with fussy little steps that are pivotal to the proper construction. This year it’s a somewhat unassuming Creator 3-in-1 set but as anyone who has built this so far can attest to, large numbers of small black pieces vastly affect the build efficiency. Do not underestimate this set folks. It’s legit. And for all non-speed builders out there it’s still a kick-butt set with very animated animals that have lots of articulation. Well played BrickCan. #brickcan #speedbuild #legospeedbuild #yoyofirebricks #legofirefighter #brickcan2025
