Halfway through our 2026 Bootcamp in South Africa— and what an inspiring journey it’s been. ✨

This week marks the 6th Bootcamp of the Spark Impact Program in South Africa, bringing together 20 new facilitators who are beginning their 10-month apprenticeship journey through

Over these 5 days, the cohort has been growing not only as facilitators, but as storytellers, community leaders, and changemakers.

They’ve been inspired and “warmed” by storyteller and poet Siphozaki Jonas, received media training from Rowan Pybus, facilitation and reporting training from Nonku Mputi and Refilwe Chiloane, received their digital starter packs (laptops and content creator kits) and experienced a powerful screening of The Last Ranger, and so much more.

The energy, courage, creativity, and commitment in this group reminds us why this work matters. These facilitators are building spaces for dialogue, learning, and community transformation across South Africa.

Some moments deserve to be shared, even if it’s a little later ✨

After Cape Town Carnival last year, we had the privilege of working with Ray Tours and welcoming a beautiful group from Australia 🇦🇺🌍. Through gumboots, rhythm and shared energy, we connected beyond language.

Working with @raypereira_drum A master percussionist whose drums carry history and heartbeat 🪘🪘🔥 was an honour.

Excited to have them back and continue building these cultural bridges with @_ilanga.elihle 🤝🏾

Through solar-powered mobile cinemas, Sunshine Cinema brings African stories to under-resourced communities across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Eswatini—creating accessible spaces for learning, reflection, and collective problem-solving.

Sunshine Cinema is one of the initiatives to be featured on UN Live’s Culture for Impact 2025 for it’s work with pairing film with facilitated discussions and practical resources to help communities imagine new possibilities, catalyse locally rooted change, and empower young leaders.✨

Yesterday I celebrated more than just my birthday I celebrated growth, new chapters, and the blessing of sharing this milestone with my family, friends, and Ukhokho wam (my grandmothers mother)🫀

2025 has truly been good to me. From Gugulethu to a graduation stage, it feels like life came full circle. This one is for my people, for my community, and for everyone who continues to believe in me. Here’s to more life, more growth, and more love 🙏🏾🥂✨
