Reflecting on an incredible journey with @capetownspurs_fc during the 22/23 Motsepe Foundation Championship – a season that saw their triumphant return to the PSL. 🏆 Inspired by our friend @the_real_chumani_butsaka #33, we gained access to the field where our movement began, walking together from the township to Athlone Stadium, a 30-40 min journey filled with passion.

With @brickhado founder of @brickhadosarcade , we envisioned a bigger purpose. Why not grow this movement and bring our community’s young talents while supporting our own? Through connections and shared enthusiasm, we became the heartbeat behind @capetownspurs_fc , our cheers echoing throughout the season.

Our movement, born out of love for the community and a dedication to the youth, swiftly gained recognition. Join us in fostering a future where the youth thrive, and together, we’ll continue building a supportive and vibrant community. 🌟 #SupportLocal #CommunityLove #YouthEmpowerment

Welcome back to Afri Business . A platform which showcases new and upcoming business throughout the South African diaspora !

Today we have a young back entrepreneur from the outskirts of Langa in Cape Town . Let’s hear what’s his story and who he is !

“My name is Qhamani Nande Xameni the owner of kwaBrickhadosarcade.

KwaBrickhadosarcade is a Gaming Arcade space located in the township of kwaLanga. The business name KwaBrickado’s Arcade symbolizes fun, entertainment, and affordable carefree time for all visitors where young and young-minded alike can enjoy a test of skill against a machine. The space is divided into 2 sections the game box which consists of 2000 - 3000 retro games in each game box and the Xbox series X section. Kwabrickado’s arcade space has a diverse range of games, music, and entertainment for all age groups.

The business was established due to many challenges that we face in the township. We aimed to become the solution to the problems we face around the township, by being part of changing and making our community a better place.

Extending our space to be able to introduce more of the latest gaming consoles in the gaming industry.

Our long-term vision for the space is to make IT and other technology-inclined services, accessible to young kids. Through workshops, we will host coding classes run by experts in the field. Alongside this, we will sell gaming and coding-related gadgets. KwaBrickado will be a hub of technology and the internet in Langa in five years” .

Please check out his page @brickhadosarcade for more info 💙.

WE SALUTE ENTREPRENEURS LIKE QUE FOR BRINGING CHANGE TO THE COMMUNITY

Had the pleasure of seeing so much art and craftsmanship these past two weeks in South Africa - the magnificent gardens of @babylonstoren , the architectural genius of @thesilohotel_ _ , the exhibition "When We See Us" at the @zeitzmocaa , the many artists featured on First Thursdays @firstthursdays_za where we explored at @youngblood_ct

The highlight though - the place that connected the dots of why art is essential - was the Township of LANGA. On the first day we arrived, we went to a jam session that blew my mind and can only be felt by visiting Andy's @andymkosi documentation @bedroomtourexperience . Trust, go and click.

Then on the last day, we returned to Langa township and biked. We met @lungijoe_ceramics , saw the artworks and heard the plans for their outdoor cafe at @16onlerotholi , met the hardworking staff at @langabicyclehub who started the business as a passion to serve their community, and was hosted by our new friends at the @brickhadosarcade , a gaming arcade for the kids in Langa whose motto is 'we rise by lifting others.'

Andy @andymkosi says that to connect with people, you have to know their culture, their essence and their story. Thru the art we saw, the wonderful people we met, the witnessing of true love of craftsmanship, this visit to Cape Town was a real refresher, spring forward, beautiful reminder that art in its many forms (ceramics, paintings, music, film, fashion, furnishings,
etc) is an essential tool and has so much power. To inspire, to nurture, to challenge, and in our very fortunate case, to connect communities! Thank you 💞
