As @wolfbotts said too, the best things come out when the bond between people is strong. We too often fill projects with briefs, words and diagrams, while underestimating the chemistry that forms when friendship and mutual respect are at stake. These are two values that, lived with ease, organize and plan a project all by themselves. Luca and I hardly needed to say anything to each other: enthusiasm for our passions did the rest.

I’ve ridden fixed-gear bikes for a long time, and I’ve known Luca for just as long. What I’ve always admired in him, more than his undeniable skill, is the ease with which he lived his relationship with the bike, even when he decided to close that chapter. I’m truly happy to have contributed to making his bike even more unique. The Notorious series by @bricklanebikes is an icon for any fixed-gear lover, and having worked on this very one means a great deal to me.

For me, the bicycle goes far beyond riding, racing, or the Strava challenges people chase so obsessively today. Getting around by bike is one of the most beautiful and powerful acts of freedom a person can take. The bicycle was, is and will remain the vehicle of the future. It has always been that for me, and I’ll keep supporting the cycling world whenever the chance comes up.
