Anyone who knows me could tell you that the most frequent topic that has come up between us in the last 2 years would be how difficult I've been finding it to live here in Berlin. My unhappiness occupied so much of my brain that it was all I could really talk about. At the peak of my despondency, my best friend bought me a bike. He'd said he thinks my mental health could significantly improve if I were to cycle around the city, witnessing it rather than feeling trapped in it. It might sound ridiculous but I felt the change after my very first ride. I started to feel better and it was around this time that a couple of people came into my life that further lifted me out of the heavy gloom I had been experiencing uninterrupted for too long. One of these people is Jeremy. I am realising in this moment that it is quite difficult to describe the feeling of a particular kind of connection with someone. It's sort of a form of electricity. The other day, I was leaving his apartment and one of us said something stupid, and then we were laughing for 20 minutes straight, unable to breath, crying. The kind of ache you get from deep belly laughs - that's a feeling I associate with this connection and I feel so fortunate that I get to experience it so often. Gifts can come to you in the form of people, and right now I feel very spoilt. Thank you, Jeremy.
