This guy named Roderick told me to buy a trailer and have a fisherman’s fall so that’s what I did

Steelhead, a fishing dog, and my favourite person to share a run with. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip to celebrate our anniversary. Minus a few mishaps… 🥲
We’ve fished for steelhead on (or the day before) our anniversary every year so far, let’s keep that tradition going baby!!! @dimitriroussanidis 😜💕

Exploring your immediate world with your tool of choice.

As I continue to put our reports each week, I want to continually encourage being outside, on/in your local water exploring what is close to you.

Frequency is the key to habituating yourself to any watershed.

The more you see it the more intimate it becomes to you and knowing your home water this well will always equate to more success.

Daylight is going to be in short supply here soon in the Seattle area so lean into your local watershed to increase your frequency.

There is a ton to explore around greater Seattle and I am here to help you.

Come see me, DM, call, text send a card…whatever. Let’s just keep you on the water all year, having fun.

Fly fishing is fun…never forget!

So stoked on this one! When @rational.angler stepped into this run on the upper Pitt River I knew right away the light was perfect, he just needed to make right cast and I couldn’t mess the shot up! All of my fly fishing images come from real life in the moment opportunities, nothing ever set up only images caught during a quick moment in time during actual fishing situations! I have been submitting photos and being published regularly for over a decade, with over 20 images used on covers of leading fly fishing publications, however never for a @flyfusionmag cover until now! Slide ➡️ to see the cover! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen! @bentleys_fishing_adventures @jonmacarthur @rational.angler @castandiron @flyfishing_photography and of course @flyfusionmag for publishing this image along with many others in the new fall 2026 issue! Grab a copy and check it out! Also a shout out to @bridge_116.2 for creating a line that helped to make this cast happen for @rational.angler ! Cheers fellas!! #flyfishingphotography #flyfishing #explorebc #speycasting

River time and Great dry fly action, putting some heavy bends to my recent build. A few shots don’t capture how special this place is. Great to catch up with a great mentor in the craft to talk some bamboo @riverwatchrods #dryflysteelhead #bamboorodbuilding #steelheadflyfishing #healingjourney #flyfishing

Getting to know the new 6134-4 from @cfburkheimer .

We talked with Kerry Burkheimer and some of the team to learn a bit more about why they were inspired to add this stick to the already time-tested lineup, and then we put it through its paces.

“Spey Rod Review: C.F. Burkheimer 6134-4”, is featured in Issue 26.3, now on SwingTheFly.com

Sorry…3 fish photos in a row but whoa, they do exist and this past week we have seen a few around on various watersheds around town.

Our own Ethan Barker aka @tetonflytying with one from down south.

Yet another reason fall is our favorite season to fish around Seattle. Swinging flies for steelhead is simply addictive so be careful.

Come see us and we will point you in a good direction and help with therapy if needed.
