YOOOOOOO I’M 10 YEARS SOBER TODAY!!!!
I cannot believe I’m here.

For those tagged (and so many others) I honestly would not be here without you. This celebration is possible only because you stuck around and showed me care every step of the way.
To my friends, family, recovery chosen family, The Spot crew and the dance community…you hold it down and hold me up. Your endless love and support has kept me here. You are all so important to me. NOTHING BUT GRATITUDE TODAY AND EVERYDAY 💕
I was a broken person…now I have a life beyond my wildest dreams.

If you need help, ask for it. Your sober friends are around even if you have never met us. We are here. odaat

New York City. Thank you for sharing your magic with me.

Tbh- I was not expecting this, but I became super triggered as my plane began to land in NY. Any time I think I’ve “got it under control,” an itch can creep in, a memory can charm me, and an obsessive desire can begin to trick me.

I thought to myself - “I’m a big girl. I’ve come so far emotionally and with my sobriety. I handled Vegas. This is nothing.”

This was not nothing.

Over the years, I have had SO MUCH fun in The City. And here’s the elephant in the room - alcohol was always involved.

I started to reimagine the feelings of fun I used to have. I recalled all the LAUGHS and shenanigans and “omg” moments I’ve had with my friends and loved ones. And I thought for a split second- maybe I could be that girl for just one more night.

And I had to remember. At the end of all those fun times, I lay my head down on my pillow and HATED. MYSELF. I prayed for what I have now. I was desperately alone in a sea of “fun times,” and longed for the sense of peace that I have today (well, most days! bc I’m human).

I’m so freaking lucky to have my soul-sisters. They helped give me the confidence to enjoy NYC in a new way. They loved me through a desire that we all know is not in alignment with my highest self.

I am so grateful I could cry.

It’s so important for me to create new experiences and feelings around places I love. And I’m so grateful that 1) I have a partner in Spo who supports me in this journey and 2) soul sisters who walk with me every step of the way.

Love. Always.
