Starting off 2026 right! Here are some of the highlights from our season opener:

Peep the new black uniforms 👀😎

•Caitlyn Cox won the women’s weight throw with a 5th round toss of 19.53m (and closed it out with a 6th round 19.39m!). This throw unofficially leads DIII! I throw a lot Caitlyn’s way and she consistently rises to the challenge and it shows in the way she competes!
•Bridgette Smith threw a personal best of 13.40m in the weight throw, and followed it up with a rotational personal best of 11.28m in the shot put. Plenty more to come from this one!
•Audra Gallick started rotational technique with her non-dominant hand and marked over 11m after just 5 practices. Her journey hasn’t been easy, but where there’s a will, there’s a way!
•Abby Horsfall hit a third round weight throw PR with a toss of 12.62m (from warm up jail???). Feeling some good things and moving in the right direction!
•Lilly Anderson continues to improve in her second career weight throw comp with a toss of 9.57m. Watching her gain more confidence through every rep has me excited to see what’s in store for her!
•Zariah Jones also PR’d in her second college weight throw comp with a toss of 9.12m. Z approaches every rep with a fearlessness and an attitude that is truly unmatched!
•Nick Pierro notched his first weight throw PR of his junior season with a toss of 14.33m. Getting a feel for it more and more each practice!
•Eli Pflipsen had a BIG day! In the weight throw he had three marks beyond his previous personal best for new PR of 16.93m. In the shot put he popped a huge personal best of 16.62m right out of the gates! This mark unofficially sits at 6th in DIII and is tied with Loras Legend Tom Kult for 3rd All-Time at Loras!
•Last, but not least, Dre Jackson finished the day with a 6th round win in men’s shot put with a clean toss of 17.09m! This mark unofficially ranks 3rd in DIII. Super happy with the mark for January, but even happier with HOW he’s doing it! Process over outcome!

Excited to get back to work in practice next week!
