When I was 6 years old, the first song I learned on drums was My Doorbell.

Saturday, I had the opportunity to not only open for an idol, but do it surrounded by friends and family.

I am beyond lucky for the life and world I was raised into, and that I have found my way back into a community that has so much to give. I am so grateful.
The third photo is of my mom at the Hamtramck Labor Day fest probably around the time I got so inspired by Meg’s drumming..

Thank you to @officialjackwhite @thirdmanrecordscasscorridor and @pineknobmusic for letting us share our music and share in an incredible day.

I still feel like I’m glowing!

This time...it's instrumental.

When I was a kid, I had a 45 single of Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters” theme song. The B-side was the instrumental version and I thought that was so cool! Long before I’d even heard of “karaoke,” I would sing along to that instrumental over and over. I assumed all songs were released with instrumental versions, but I soon learned that wasn’t the case. To this day, I still think that’s kind of a bummer.

So this release is for everyone out there who wants to sing along or just wants to chill out without words floating around.

Thanks!
Really Very
Jerry

I’m so excited to share ‘Shaping City’, a group exhibition showcasing ceramic artists working in and around Detroit. It’s been such a privilege to organize this show in concurrence with NCECA 2026 and our studio, Still Life Ceramics.

When developing this show, I kept thinking back to the passionate people and creative projects that fill our city. It’s the community that makes Detroit’s ceramic culture so unique and this show, to me, is like a love letter to the creative spirit that drove me to Detroit in the first place.

If you are around next week, I hope you stop by and see the work on display. A lot of incredible artists have created new pieces for this exhibition (including me !) and it would be so great to see you :)

Our opening reception is March 26th, 5-8pm.

Hope to see you there!

“Shaping City” showcases twelve local artist working in and around Detroit. Their work provides a glimpse into the current conversations and creative practices shaping the further of Metro Detroit and its people. In tandem with these highlighted artists, members of Still Life Ceramics are showcasing finished work on their personal shelves across the studio.

Apart of NCECA’s Clay Around Town series.

We hope to see you all at the Reception- March 25th 5-8pm at Still Life Ceramics, 700 Livernois St. Ferndale, MI

On view March 25-27.

Organized by Lisa Chan and Benjamin Briggance
