Part II: Some may say that I am dramatic or that I romanticize life. I have heard these things before. But I am attuned to the weight, preciousness and precariousness of time and how quickly it slips by. I speak of it often. I cannot help it. Death seems to be at the forefront of my mind often and I know that every moment is a gift given regardless of merit.   May I never become numb or complacent in noticing the wonders of life and of love. To love is to pay attention. Esther Perel says it concisely,
“Certainty is a contrived illusion of safety. If you actually love you always know that you can lose.”   I know that I have not lost the souls that fill this small screen, in fact, I have made some some of my most authentic connections with the people I have met during my time in Atlanta, including myself—but the moments captured are gone. And when I sit with that loss, I hope and I pray that in every documented moment, my brain has a chance of remembering.   
A love letter to Atlanta: You were the perfect meeting place. With every friendship, coffee shop, restaurant, driving course, flight lesson, art show, improv experimentation, sculpting class, film project, stage production, open mic night, dance routine, concert and running route—you were exactly what and who I needed when I needed it. You were the environment my soul needed to do some shedding. I clumsily and hungrily found myself within your perimeter and I am so thankful. Thank you for your thriving art and music scene, your Southern charm without limitations, your rich culture and excellent running trails.   Thank you to every person I had the absolute treasure of knowing. You are sacred and truly so incredibly special. You are the image of God, miraculously here, in this space, place and time and I happened to get to know you. Damn. I am really, really glad. I am really, really grateful. Thank you for sending me off chockful of love and filled to the brim with laughter (and maybe too much wine).  See ya again soon. Until then, I’ll hold these memories tight.

Happy Summer Solstice and Midsummer!

Taking it way back to A Midsummer Night’s Dream Ball in 2024. A truly magical evening where so many people became friends! This was my second event and it felt like it wasn’t going to happen. Trying to sell a fantasy event in 3 months during Georgia Renaissance Festival season was challenging (first lesson learned) and it seemed like the theme wasn’t reaching the right audience. 3 weeks before our original date right around actual Midsummer, I was told the Juneteenth Festival was moving to the park right by the venue that weekend. I had to make the very very difficult decision to move the date to July out of respect for the festival and to avoid any possible logistical challenges. Crazily enough, the guest count ended up being a little higher than it was before, even with cancellations, and the temperature was about 7-10 degrees cooler on the date in July than it was on the original date. This was the first event I lost money on, but it was also the first where I saw a glimpse of where we were going- creating a true community ✨💖✨

Please admire @itsmollybelle in her dreamy costume contest-winning ensemble that she made herself. For the past two years, it’s been amazing to watch her following grow so much with her gorgeous aesthetic videos and seeing processes for handmade clothes.
