If The Hallow was a song, I’d choose The Hanging Tree. It has that dark, haunting feeling that fits this book so well. They are on the run for their life and everything is at stake. This story still has such a hold on me. 🖤

I wonder how many tiny details in fantasy stories people actually notice?

I spend way too much time thinking about things like where people get soap, how they dry their clothes, or what they eat after a long day of travel.

To me, I just love the little moments that remind you these characters are still people. They have to brush their teeth, find somewhere to bathe, deal with injuries (though my characters have a bit of an advantage there), answer natures call, and somehow just keep going. Similar to us.

Anyone have small details like that which they just enjoyed reading in stories?
