After the noise stillness comes again but heavier and slower. The body begins to change shape, holding air, losing form, forgetting what it used to be. This is where recognition fades. What once moved now stiffens, gestures freeze mid motion.

Decay isn’t about disappearance. Its the moment something stops pretending to be alive. Flesh becomes surface, warmth turns to tension and silence starts to weigh differently.

The look is sculptural : a satin top engineered to hold its shape, swelling like bloated skin, caught between tension and collapse. swallowing the body whole, a single cutout lets the head push through, pearls draped around the neck like remnants of something once beautiful, now heavy with stillness. Leather grounds the silhouette, while steel scrub gauntlets freeze the hands in place. The body starts hardening against its own memory.

Decay isn’t violent. Its quiet procedural, beauty stripped of motion, the beginning of disappearance. The point where the body stops being human and becomes material.

This is the third image in Roadkill, a series tracing seven stages of decay: Death, Disgust, Decay, Dissection, Deformity, Reclamation, and Display. A meditation on fragility, inevitability, and the beauty in the things most people look away from, the body, the material, the world left behind.

The concept revolves around my parents explaing the union of individuals coming from two different religious beliefs and surving in a world where their love is considered to be a sacrifice of their own
“selves”. And how when the world has not been kind, they grew stronger together to sustain in this grey area called as life.

Playing with different colour palettes, embroidery techniques, fabrics of tad bit similarities and non-regimented weaving laid the basis of garment construction.

I have a lot of people to thank so here we go :
