Sports in Kansas XC Runner to Watch: Brilynn Trumpp, Plainville Junior

Brilynn Trumpp has consistently been one of Kansas’ top distance runners and enters her senior cross country season ready for another strong year.

On the track, Trumpp has earned multiple state medals, including a runner-up finish in the 3200 meters in 2025 and a fourth-place finish in the 1600. During the 2026 state meet, she added fifth-place finishes in both the 1600 and 3200 while also placing ninth in the 800 and helping Plainville’s 4x800 relay to a ninth-place finish. She also placed eighth at the 2025 Kansas State Cross Country Championships during her sophomore season.

A former volleyball player as a freshman, Trumpp has dedicated herself to distance running and looks to lead a growing Plainville program into the fall.

“I am excited for this upcoming cross country season. We have a new head coach and we are excited to have a girls cross country team.”

With experience, state success, and leadership, Trumpp will be one to watch throughout the 2026 Kansas high school cross country season.
