It’s still hard to put into words how much starting the Riley Dance Marathon at THS has changed my life. What began as a simple passion has grown into an opportunity to develop as a speaker, a leader, and an advocate for something far bigger than myself. From entering the hospital at just five years old, to being named a Riley Champion this year almost 13 years later, Riley Children’s Hospital has been a constant part of my story, watching me grow into the person I am today.

Freshman-year me would hardly believe what this vision has become. All she wanted was to share her passion for Riley with her peers and show them that even the ideas that seem impossible can become reality with enough heart and determination. Today, Dance Marathon has grown into something truly meaningful for students at THS. I’m incredibly proud that, together, we turned a dream into something that has made a real difference.

For more than a decade, I have been fundraising and giving back to Riley, and through Dance Marathon alone I’ve raised over $12,000.00 . While that number is something I’m proud of, the true impact goes far beyond dollars. It’s in the community we’ve built, the awareness we’ve spread, and the hope we’ve helped bring to Riley patients and their families. Riley shaped my childhood, and starting Dance Marathon gave me the chance to turn my gratitude into action—creating something that will continue to make an impact long after I graduate.
