annnnddd then when big on Saturday for NIGHT OF THE LIVING POETS: our first poetry festival event bringing together @housepoetphilly, @excaliburpoetry, @bring_a_blanket, @poets_row, @moonstoneartscenter and a wide swath of others. In between, we checkout plants from @gro_project_ro, workshops from @sassypantsmcfingerguns and celebrated the birthdays of @lindsaygravy and @alexandranaughton.

We could not be more proud and thankful for the more the 200 of you that read, connected, sung and danced their way through the night.

Special thanks to @theperch_musicandarts_workshop for hosting us, @eastkensingtonneighbors and @southstcannabismuseum for their fiscal support.

We can't wait to continue to host your warmth, creativity and free expression next year. Stay tuned for our plans.

It is pub day for A SWITCH FLIPPED IN ME!

It’s been a long road for both @somethrills and Thirty West going from a chapbook to a book in almost 7 years! Can’t wait to celebrate on Sunday with @bring_a_blanket and be on the lookout for the official launch in September. Mailing out last-minute sales and taking a breather. Yall rock for reading and taking pics. Thank you again to the past and present blurb writers for really enjoying these stories and poems and @averygivensnardone for painting this stunning cover front to back.

Introducing our FOUR featured performers!

Hanah Strawberry @hanahstrawberry is an interdisciplinary artist who is particularly fond of dissecting the delightful gooey mess that comprises the human soul. Her debut album, Forgetting Me As Her, was released in 2022 as an intimate collection of song and poetry. In her spare time, Hanah finds joy in asking people a million questions, being in nature, and doing the napolean dynamite dance (you know the one).

Ayanna J (she/they) @simply_ayanna2.0 is an activist, educator environmentalist and daughter of Mother Nature. They are published in multiple Philadelphia zines and publications including Collide, they also published their debut poetry book with blue Jade press titled “Simply Ayanna” Ayanna often writes personal reflections of their inner world and takes you on a journey of them processing the world at large. Ayanna is simply themselves and calls their poetry reading their diary to strangers. At their core they are love and love to connect with artists.

Skunk @edgar.allan.hoe.97 is a poet, performer, and circus freak. Edgar Allan Poe is their favorite poet.

Claire McFadden @claire.mmcfadden is a comic and humor writer in Philadelphia. She likes to read, write, and talk to people except while she’s reading or writing

Also really enjoyed my first co-hosted UV/blacklight night hike 🔦✨ seeing nature in a new light (very literally) and appreciating how we as humans don’t often get to experience the wild beauty of night with ultraviolet vision.
