you heard it here first!! i’m putting my house up for long-term lease while i spend the next year (or more) focusing on my dissertation and writing from friends’ houses around the world ❤️‍🔥 if you or someone you know is interested — reach out! additional info at the link in my bio; this house is truly the most special refuge… anyone who has come over for a dinner or a coffee or a mid-winter fireside chat can attest! 🌞 fully furnished, flexible terms, perennial herb + flower garden, fruit trees, the whole nine yards…

365 days of folk, 700+ students, 5 different classroom locations, 3 women working part-time to make this little dream happen!

One year ago today, Green Door Folk School made its debut with a tiny team of the three of us working part-time to make this little dream happen, no permanent location, and 11 local instructors who said yes to teaching folk skills with us when we were nothing but a vision.  Pair that with a feeling of intense yearning for hand craft, sustainable skills, connecting with nature, and learning together, and Green Door Folk School was born.

Thank you to everyone who has been a student, shared their skills, do-si-doed at a barn dance, brought items for fixing to a Repair Cafe (and those that fixed them!), spread the word, stayed engaged, or just watched what we’re up to, waiting for the perfect moment to join in.  We’re here for all of you and hope our little school has helped you through this turbulent year even a little bit!

Craft is resistance. Traditional skills build community resilience. A connected community is power.
