as i reflect on the three months spent in kona, all i can do is give thanks to the Lord.

i remember arriving at DTS feeling scared and uncertain of what was ahead. i didn’t know who i was or who i wanted to be. i couldn’t see the path that had already been laid out for me before the creation of the world. i didn’t realize that the creator of the universe desired such a deep, personal relationship with me… how could i have missed it?

yet, in His kindness, the Lord revealed it—slowly, gently, and faithfully. He met me in places i never expected, showing His love in ways i wasn’t used to. He blessed me with relationships i once thought were impossible—friends I didn’t even know i needed, who are now a part of me forever.

and He wasn’t finished with me. He set apart time with me each morning, reminding me of who i am—not the girl sitting next to me in lecture, not the person who has it figured out, but who He created me to be. He chose me. He willfully nailed Himself on the cross for me, so i would never have to carry that weight.

looking back on a season so precious and dear to my heart is one of my greatest joys. kona will always hold a special place in me—it will always feel like home
