Hitting a 3-meter smash isn’t about how hard you can hit the ball. It’s about how efficiently you transfer power into the shot.

Here are 3 things I focus on:

1. Get behind the ball early.
Give yourself enough space to position your body sideways and make contact at the highest comfortable point.

2. Generate power from the ground up.
Use your legs, hips, and shoulder rotation to create an explosive movement. Your arm should be the final part of the sequence, not the only source of power.

3. Find the right contact point and angle.
Strike the ball slightly in front of your body with a high contact point, directing it into the court at an angle that allows it to bounce up and clear the 3-meter side fence.

The secret isn’t more strength. It’s better timing, cleaner contact, and efficient movement.

Once you understand the mechanics, you can generate serious power without forcing the shot.

Technique first. Power follows.

Save this for your next padel session.

Going from defense to offense isn’t always about hitting a winner.

Sometimes it’s about using one shot to create the next.

Vibora → Volley.

Start with the vibora to put pressure on your opponent while protecting or recovering your position at the net.

The goal isn’t necessarily to finish the point. Use the spin, depth and direction of the vibora to force a difficult return and create a weaker ball.

Then comes the volley.

Once you get that shorter or more comfortable ball, step forward, take it early and use the volley to increase the pressure or finish the point.

Think of it this way:

Vibora = create the opportunity.
Volley = take advantage of it.

The important part is not treating them as two separate shots. Recover immediately after the vibora and be ready to move forward.

That’s how you turn a defensive overhead into an attacking position without forcing the point.

Save this combo for your next training session.
