When being a Coach’s wife brings you best friends 🥹

We got to do life with @coachslay3 & @brittanyslay33 at Steve’s first D1 job at Virginia Military Institute. Immediately we all hit it off! Dinners, games, road trips, we did it!

Slay just landed a job at the University of Cincinnati. Brittany called and said “Looks like I’m gonna be your neighbor!” (BC in our world, 1.5 hours apart basically counts as neighbors!)

Apparently most people live in Kentucky and commute into the city so I actually got to help them find their Kentucky home!! SUCH a blessing 🫶

From the Basketball Court 🏀➡️ Weddings 💒 ➡️ Babies 👶🏽➡️ Buying a Home 🏡 ➡️ Family 🩵

So many life moments. SPECIAL!

A lot of cool things come with what I get to do for a living… but nothing tops this.

Being able to coach my son, Brayden, and use the game of basketball to teach him about life- discipline, hard work, handling adversity, being a good teammate, and doing things the right way.

Basketball won’t last forever. These lessons will.

Watching him grow as a player is special. Watching him grow as a young man is the real blessing.

One of the most historic programs in college basketball stopped by for a shootaround at Slay Basketball inside the Carolina Sports Medicine Center.

The University of North Carolina Tar Heels — a program that has produced legends like Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, and James Worthy, along with multiple national championships.

For them to choose our facility says a lot about what we’re building.

Had the opportunity to speak to the Illinois State Division I basketball team after practice yesterday — and I shared a mindset that started for me back in 9th grade:

🏁 Never be satisfied.
🏃🏽‍♂️ Run through the line, not to the line.

I talked to them about the importance of teammates challenging each other —
Whether it’s a shooting drill, a suicide, or in the weight room — you push one another privately, so you can win together publicly.

Because at the end of the day,
Hard work is brief success.
If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.

Appreciate the opportunity to pour into the next generation. ❤️

The craziness of season rarely allows time for reflection. Feeling extra thankful this year. It’s been a wild chapter, welcoming a little girl during volleyball season. But one of the most beautiful chapters. Sarah and I are overjoyed for our little family of 3. I am in awe of Sarah’s strength. So much love, so much support. A season filled of adversity and triumph with a roster that stuck together through it all. Thankful for my staff and athletes who supported me while I became a Mom. Sad to see this season end with such an amazing group, wish we had more time together. The future is bright and so many amazing memories ahead! Be sure to hold your loved ones extra tight and tell them you love them!

Little Nugget for my youngster..

Steph Curry is hands down the best shooter ever to lace them up. Steph probably makes 500-1000 shots a day during his practice and extra skill work.

BUT only shoots between 40-45% (expert shooting in basketball world) from 3pt land each season. So this should SCREAM to young athletes to stay in the gym. #slayway #shootersshoot #hardwork #greatshooter #getinthegym #freegame💯

The off season is a time to work on your flaws and sharpen your strengths!

Today @bryceslay2 and @tramiir spent 1 hr working on the strength, speed , and agility with @stayreadyperformance__ .

After the guys spent another 90 minutes on the court with @slaybasketball working on ball handling, different pic n roll concepts, shot speed, and then finished up with 1 on 1 from 4 spots.
