Rest in Peace my Dear Colleague and Collaborator and to whom I owe so much gratitude.

Lissa Moira may just be the most Iconic downtown experimental theater artist in NYC, and I am honored to have been a part of many of her productions as her arranger, accompanist, composer. What an incredible ride it was in the late 2000s and very early 2010s. Well I got to cut my teeth and can decades now later look back and see so much of the building blocks of my current career starting right there with Lissa.

This slideshow (feat Songologue from my Such Sweet Sorrow, produced/directed by Lissa for TNC) starts with a post I made on Facebook about her memorial at Theater for the New City I’m attending on October 21 at 8:30 PM. I wish I had pictures of her and in particular a picture with her. I hope I can find some pictures of that first and then second production of Who Murdered Love. I know I have pictures of that wild and insanely amazing ride that was called The Seduction of Time. Lissa, we took you for granted, but we never underestimated your unstoppable and abundant creative energy, theatricality, and belief and artists. You are a 60s child through and through. I love that about you and you saw that kindred spirit in myself.

Aside from Scenes from a Balcony/Such Sweet Sorrow, Seduction of Time and Who Murdered Love, I Music directed and arranged a kind of an a cappella caveman, musical,… I know, right? So amazing. It was called Before God Was Invented. And there are some amazing pictures I found in the slideshow and it ends with the most fabulous talented actress/Singer I met on day one of Who Murdered Love - and who a few years later, I would accompany off Broadway in her own production directed, and co-written by Lissa called Siren’s Heart. Louisa Bradshaw I miss those days and love you and I’m sure we are all feeling the shock and grief of losing this legend.

Thank you, Lissa but also thank you for all these incredible friends and artists that all gathered to be a part of my productions and our productions that always had Lissa as a creative director or producer or more.

Rest now my first collaborator colleague and friend in New York City. #LissaMoira

There’s a moment in @therealkylemccarren when I jump into the audience and meet everyone, and somehow, it’s not awkward?? Other than my dancing. It was extra fun to have so many beautiful souls in the audience at Joe’s Pub last Monday, including the brilliant photographer @gcope.nyc
