I lay my body out for the taking,
The wolves may feast.
An unknown journey,
As each limb is sniffed and licked and gnawed until brutally ravaged.
The unknown unfolding of this death,
This sacrifice
Of my energy
In its pushing and pulling.
The dymaxion of my fears, to anointing pleasure.
How could it be so easy and such a task
To give it all up
And trust?
Knowing resistance, this is my wilful surrender.

Introducing 𝘈𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘥𝘥 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 2026: 𝘜𝘛𝘖𝘗𝘐𝘈𝘚 project: EMBARCAÇÃO-ENTIDADE by Authors & performers: Alejandro Chellet x Brittany Maton, Performers: Stacey Anderson, Troizel, Tanasha G, Catherine Chen, Cristina Bartley Dominguez.
—
EMBARCAÇÃO-ENTIDADE is a one-hour divine masquerade in which five performers embody hybrid entities through handmade wearable sculptures. Moving slowly through 14th Street, archetypal figures gather, drift, pause, and transform within the rhythms of the city. The procession invites audiences into encounters with otherworldly presences that blur the boundaries between body, sculpture, and apparition, opening fleeting moments of wonder, estrangement, and collective imagination in public space.
—
Mexican artist and curator Alejandro Chellet and Australian artist and designer Brittany Maton have come together to create EMBARCAÇÃO-ENTIDADE, a collaborative practice rooted in ritual performance and radical hospitality. Their individual practices span performance, social practice, food systems, fashion, textiles, sculpture, and material culture. Together, they explore embodiment, divine masquerade, and collective experience through interdisciplinary forms.

From the archive: a dinner with @ninstudio_ | March 2024

In collaboration with @cosmophage we created an ad hoc vessel from a loose strand of armature wire —cause how else are you supposed to present a giant flatbread??

So much fun to have a play partner @brittinavase 🥰

I am very grateful for letting ourselves become cocreators of @embarcacao.entidade so we can research divine masquerade. Dream, write and design, creating everything from our collective imagination.

In the pictures above:
Britt doing and sharing sketches, us playing with Nin studio textiles, we playing with masks we found in Lagunilla and Sonora Markets, dinner at mine to plot the project, Britt sewing costumes and swamped in ixtle while working with it, Britt giving instruction to our team at WL, the artists after the show, our touring artist couple with 5 luggage ready for pickup :)
