15 women. 31 miles. One mission: Break barriers and change the face of ultrarunning. The women of the First 50k Sisterhood represented different backgrounds, running journeys, and reasons for stepping up to the 50k starting line. But they shared one thing: the courage to say yes to something that will inspire other women to make bold moves, too. Before I get lost in trip reports and Cordillera Blanca climbing… May left me feeling incredibly lucky. I had support through hard moments and big goals. Fantastic friendship that showed true colors; warming my heart when they probably didn’t even know how cold it was or how much I needed it. @tfahey3 and @wetmore.matt know how to bring the best vibes in choss and chaos. I’ll bring the beers next time. @bboche_ came to visit and snuck around Zion with me, saw @colton.arthur.peters and linked at the hot springs with @dani.rudinsky and Sarah. Spent more time on the phone catching up with old friends than maybe… ever? Got to climb with lots of friends and truly soak up the last weeks in Vegas for a while. @brittttnoel (thanks for so many things!) and I tried our hand at tennis. Better every time isn’t too significant if you saw how we started. I went to Montana and completed my EMT training and have exciting plans to advance and apply it in the coming years. Thanks to friends that studied with me and played patient both literally and emotionally. All of this on the precipice of heading down to South America, where Peru will be my home for a few months as I plug in with @awexpeditions - I can’t wait to share what’s still to come.

The lovely @brittttnoel high above the valley floor on Khaleesi 11c out at The Grail in Lime Kiln Canyon, Arizona. 🌞 It’s not often I pick up a camera these days, but when I do, I’m reminded of a past life—one where taking photos was all I did. Nostalgia runs through me as I think back on the days of shooting snowboarding, people, and places. 🌱

On the Northeast side of "The Monument", near Black Velvet Canyon, lies a remote triangular varnished wall called "Mustang Wall". The most striking feature being a vertical crack system and shallow right facing dihedral that splits the center of the wall...this is Mustang Cracks. Sweet shot by @brittttnoel of a working burn on “Desert Gold” a few weeks ago in the desert, what an absolutely incredible and inspiring line! Certainly one of my top to-do’s at the moment in the area. I’ve managed to one hang the full pitch but can’t seem to pull hard enough to get through a single crux move down low involving some sad overhanging fingerstacks and a distinct lack of feet. Hopefully soon! While we’re on the mend I’ll have to settle for studying my “how to crack climb” book from the dirt. The back is coming along! About 16 days into the worst flair up ever by a huge margin and I’m fortunately back on my feet. I don’t anticipate being able to really try hard for another week or two still but I suppose that’s how these cycles cycle. Still not sure what the near term solution is going to be, I’m adamantly averse to surgery as long as I’m able to function if I can avoid it but with the severity of the last few weeks it definitely adds a bit of urgency to the situation. Starting physical therapy back up immediately and will continue to weigh options with outcomes and lifestyle allowances. We’re getting old man! #rockclimbing #climbing #climb #climbon #tradclimbing
