Two weeks ago, we had the privilege of being featured on WOSU's Broad&High program. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share the voices, creativity, and experiences of adults with developmental disabilities with the wider community. This program showcased the power art has to foster self-confidence and provide an outlet for expression.

Thank you to everyone who watched! If you missed the live viewing, you can always catch it on Broad&High on PBS.

I met with the directors of the Shot Tower Gallery this week, and we’ve officially locked in a Spring 2027 exhibition. Standing in front of that building again — the scale, the brick, the clock tower — reminded me how few spaces in Columbus are built to hold abstraction with this kind of presence. There haven’t been many curated abstract shows here in recent years, especially ones that give the work room to breathe.

This one will.

Thresholds of Abstraction will bring together a group of abstract artists working across different approaches and visual languages — each exploring form, atmosphere, and material in their own way. It’s been forming quietly for a while, but now the timeline is real. Spring 2027. A full room. A full narrative. I’m excited to build this one with intention.

We’re excited to share that APSI’s Birds of Encouragement mural will be featured on Broad & High! The episode airs TODAY, Thursday, April 23 at 8:00 PM on WOSU, and we’re honored to see this project and the voices behind it highlighted in such a meaningful way.

The feature will also spotlight Samantha Perry, one of the talented artists who contributed to the mural, as she shares more about her work and her experience being part of the project. Her perspective is a powerful reminder of what this mural was always meant to do: create space for expression, connection, and encouragement.

You can tune in on WOSU TV, or stream it live on Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV. If you can’t catch it tonight, the episode will also be available afterward through WOSU/PBS on demand.

We hope you’ll take a moment to watch and join us in celebrating the incredible artists and community that brought this mural to life!
