📍 @broadfieldalehouse Sheffield

If you’re after a great hearty lunch, then you need to check out The Broadfield on Abbeydale Road.

Their menu is basically pie and chips or sausage and mash. What more could you want?

I ordered the sweetcorn, jalapeno and Wensleydale pie with a lemon and blackberry tart for dessert.

Their pies are delicious, but the standout are their handcut chips, look at them! They were so light and fluffy, and went so well with the pie and gravy, such a great wintery meal 🥧

The tart was served warm, with a hint of citrus and blackberry jam.

Sheffield doing what Sheffield does best...

What a stunning autumn day to spend out of the house doing lovely things including two very different but delightful dog walks.

After an early start dropping our lovely neighbours at the station, the shopping was done and breakfast purchased from the incredible vegan patisserie geniuses that are @lovelyritasbakehouse

After a fun visit to the cinema a long walk was on the cards with our biggest boy Rodney. About 7 miles taking in Highstorrs and Highcliffe allotments, refreshment (by @tickingclockbrewing ) at @thewonkylabrador , met a rock snake, then Endcliffe Park, and Brincliffe Edge Woods.

It was straight back out with little man Rufus (long strolls are no longer his vibe!), and a gallop along Abbeydale Road for some biscuits and a half of delightful @pollysbrewco beer and the iconic @broadfieldalehouse

Woodland, nature, calm blue skies, and a little urban pottering for good measure. What a city, what a day 🙌🏼

Proper chips, proper pies, proper pints🍻

Why does pub food just hit differently up North? When in Sheffield, I sampled what I can only describe as some of the best pub food in the whole c̶o̶u̶n̶t̶r̶y̶ world🤩 The ultimate comfort grub worth writing home about. I hereby declare every pub should be judged by their chips.

🍻❤️ AND THAT'S A WRAP ON DAY FOUR... ❤️🍻
What a weekend?!

From packed beer gardens and busy bars to live music, amazing food, brilliant independent businesses and thousands of pints enjoyed across the trail, Abbeydale Road has once again shown what a special place it is.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, visited a venue, collected stamps, volunteered, performed, worked behind a bar, cooked, stewarded, sponsored, supported or simply helped spread the word.

Special thanks to 7 Hills Security for helping keep everything running smoothly throughout the weekend, and to all of the incredible venue teams who have worked flat out to make the festival happen.

🏆 Missed prize collection?
Festival HQ is now closed, but the Abbeydale Ballroom has the remaining posters for anyone who completed the trail and hasn't yet collected theirs.

We'll have plenty more photos, stories and thank-yous to share over the coming days, but for now:
🍺 Cheers, Abbeydale Road.
See you next year. ❤️

Abbeydale Road Beer Festival...

Today sees the launch of the 2026 Abbeydale Road Beer Festival. This year's theme is North versus South with a spectacular line up of 15 venues and 5 "wild card" stops showcasing more than 30 breweries pitting (it's a friendly battle!) producers in the North of the UK against those from the South.

As a pair contained a Southerner and East Anglian, living in South Yorkshire, our allegiance is... confused!
