Day 4 of the last shoot… running on fumes at this point but we had a great day filming at the studio. recording voiceovers for the doc. Tomorrow’s my day off… won’t be getting out of my pajamas. First day of our last shoot for Bluegrass Sons, A True Crime Documentary. Starting out slow and strong, establishing shots at an old school Lexington spot (The Thoroughbred, we’ll be there tomorrow for an interview), and back home as I lay out the drama from my point of view. I had the profound privilege of spending last weekend at one of my very favorite places in the whole wide world! There are a few things that bring me more joy than 1) great midcentury architecture and 2) abandoned and seemingly doomed historic structures receiving a second chance. One of the most glamorous examples of both is Eero Saarinen's TWA Terminal at JFK Airport! It feels like a miracle that we are allowed to interact with this living art. Yay for adaptive reuse! And yay for friends (old and new!) with whom to enjoy it!

IT’S A WRAP!!! The El Paso shoot for our documentary, Bluegrass Sons finished a few hours ago and I couldn’t be more happy! Thank you to Leader Chagra, his beautiful wife, Jessica and daughter Harper for welcoming our director, Donna Demari into your life and sharing our childhood with all its tragedies, triumphs and all its characters, in front of the camera. Thank you Mia Isaac for all of your help. We are now one last shoot here in Kentucky in October and we’re done. ✊ Leader, our fathers, Dan Chandler and Lee Chagra, not to mention my brother Chan and Uncle Brad are undoubtedly so very proud of us!
