“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

I've met so many amazing people during my time here at SCAD. It's been a wonderful experience, and I've learned a lot. I'll miss the critiques, the constant revisions, the sleepless nights because of those revisions, the late-night Monty (even though I'm not an animation major), Unreal Engine, Maya 2024, Byte Cafe, Frosty Frog, the movies playing at Trustees and Lucas, the Arnold Film Festival (illegal movie club), the table reads, the late-night writing sessions, my professors, my time at Arnold Hall, the security guards, the lunch staff and chefs, the bus drivers, the Lime bus, the Gold bus, the library, The Baked Bear 💔, my friends, the Film/TV Festival, and everything else that made my four years beautiful.

Here's to my series finale 🫰🏾 (I might do a spin-off; the chances are low, but never zero.)

wouldn't let me tag more people so 👇🏾

My Best Bite of 2025

Without question the best bite I ate in 2025 - including my own creations - was a silken foie gras mousse crowned on perfectly toasted brioche. A combination so flawless it felt almost unfair to everything else I tasted this year. The mousse was impossibly airy yet decadently rich, dissolving on the tongue before you even had time to fully appreciate its depth. Sweet figs stepped in as the ideal counterpoint, bright and jammy, while pink peppercorn added a subtle floral heat that lifted the whole bite into another dimension. Every element worked in concert, like a tiny symphony that lasted only seconds but echoed for hours. I’m still thinking about it, still craving it, and still wondering how something that small could feel that monumental.

Cooking brings family together. I love to cook, and I'm so happy I can leave that legacy with my children. But sometimes, I'm not the best teacher. Did someone say control freak in the kitchen? That's why I was so excited about Chef David and @kitchnstudio_chi, where my son @brodylaforce and I could spend time in a professional kitchen learning hands-on with the chef himself. Afterward, we got to enjoy the fruits of our labor by having a delicious lunch.

Today, we made fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, scrambled eggs, and a berry compote. Without question a delicious meal. If you're in thy Chicagoland area, this is a must try.
