This weekend reminded us exactly why community will always be at the heart of what we do. 🤎

We came ready to run, cheer, support and celebrate, and left with full hearts and so much to be proud of.

We watched 10 Sin Miedo members cross their very first 5K finish line. 🥹

We celebrated Luis as the overall winner, and 12 Sin Miedo runners earning 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their age groups, with our community represented from under 9 all the way to 60+. 🏆🔥

But one of the most rewarding parts was seeing the students this work is ultimately for out there running, volunteering, cheering and being part of the day.

Because showing up for community isn’t only about what we accomplish ourselves. It’s about being present for each other, supporting the work already happening in our city, and making sure the next generation sees people who look like them participating, leading and giving back.

Thank you to Steps of Success and @ for trusting Sin Miedo to stand alongside your mission and welcoming our community into something that reaches far beyond the finish line.

Freedom is our birthright.

We had the honor of participating, running, and celebrating at the Juneteenth Freedom Day 5K. 🤎🖤❤️💚

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom, equity, and belonging are values worth protecting and continuing to fight for. We are grateful to have shared this space with a community committed to honoring that history while building a future where everyone feels welcome.

Congratulations to all of our Sin Miedo members who showed up and gave it their all, especially those who earned podium finishes in their race categories! We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. 👏🏽

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, connected with us, shared conversations, and allowed us to share the mission of Sin Miedo. Every interaction reminds us why this work is so important.

A special thank you to Shawn, Radir, and the entire Juneteenth Freedom Day 5K team for your partnership, trust, and commitment to creating meaningful community spaces. We are grateful to be part of it.

One year.

The first photo was taken at our very first Sin Miedo meet up run..

No sponsors.
No partnerships.
No big plans.

Just a small group of people willing to believe in an idea.

An idea that more people deserved to feel seen, welcomed, represented, and at home on the trails.

Yesterday, we recreated that photo.

Not because of how much we’ve grown, but because we wanted to remember where it all started.

What began with a handful of people became a community.

A familia.

A space where people have found friendship, confidence, healing, adventure, belonging, and the courage to take up space outdoors.

To every person who has joined a run, shared a post, volunteered, partnered with us, cheered us on, or simply believed in what we were building:

Día de los Muertos is a sacred time to honor and celebrate the lives of those who came before us. It is a day filled with remembrance, color, and love that connects us to our roots.

We’ll gather on the trails to move with intention, share pan dulce, coffee, and hot chocolate, and build a community altar to honor our loved ones. If you would like, bring a photo of someone you want to remember. New Balance will also be onsite with trail shoe demos for anyone who wants to try something new on the run. 🤎
