Truly blessed to have a couple more events to close out this busy month. This Saturday, October 24th I will be joining a panel of innovative artists and dedicated community activists/organizers for a discussion on Art & Justice @bronxmuseum as a part of Community Joy and Justice Day as @legalaidnyc celebrates their 150th Anniversary Year Celebrations. Bring a friend, family member or loved one and enjoy the whole day of creative festivities! Fast forward to next Thursday, October 29th, I will join a select group of artists whose work explores surreal elements as a more serious weapon in the struggle for collective and individual freedom for an exhibition at @bronxartspace curated by the illustrious @schumachercunninghambx Pull up and meet some talented artists then feel free to drop by my airstream darkroom! “Vandals to Vanguard” exhibit at BronxArtSpace in Hunts Point - Bronx, NY (Oct 2026) Including works by MOKA213 and Queen Andrea. Curated by artist KayLove, this exhibit brings together a group of New York City women who came up through the graffiti scene of the 1990s and 2000s and have continued to evolve their creativity into careers across the arts and entrepreneurial world. My visit was facilitated by participating in the annual Open House New York Weekend festival. The exhibit will be up through Sat Oct 24. #bronxartspace #womenartists #bronxarts #ohny #huntspoint BronxArtSpace is a non-profit gallery that promotes underrepresented and emerging artists and curators. Located in the Hunts Point area of the South Bronx, and not associated with any college or institution, it fosters arts education through exhibitions and cultural events. This summer I had the honor of being chosen to create a collaborative public art projection about Spofford Juvenile Detention Center with a teen apprentice. (SWIPE TO SEE THE VISION OF MY AMAZING APPRENTICE➡️➡️➡️) The process of creating this work touched and changed me in so many ways and so it is with great pleasure that I invite you next Sat 10/24 for a FREE “community joy” family day at @bronxmuseum @legalaidnyc with hands on artmaking, children’s book giveaways + join a community conversation on “Art + Justice: envisioning the Bronx we want to build” where I will be talking about the thoughts and development behind the pieces. Tribute to the pioneers of writing at The New York Historical as part of You Should be Dancing on view through April 2027. Can you spot the tags? it was an honor to assist the curators on this display, and bring this important art work into the museum. From LEE 2 to United Graffiti Artists, the first artistic organization for writers that brought aerosol art out of the train tunnels and into the galleries. Thank you to the NY Historical for recognizing the importance of writing and aerosol art in NY and worldwide. Who would have known when the kids started picking up markers and writing their names?

It was truly an epic night filled with high vibing energy, beautiful art and beautiful people. When I came up with the concept of the show I wanted to honor the woman of graffiti. The writers, bombers, vandals, and piecers. Those who took risk and continue to by living in a world that is already stacked against them. From the nitty gritty to the pretty, to being entrepreneurs and creative geniuses. Showing the world that they don't need any outside validation but their own. I want to thank each and every one of these woman for entrusting me to showcase them as not just as woman but as writers who had their own unique story to tell. Not by me or some gatekeeper but by them. A special thank you to Abigail Montes @mybelovedbronx who was one of the first persons that I shared my vision with and who helped me bring it to life by capturing such raw and beautiful portraits. Thank you Sabine and Rheays from the @bronxartspace for allowing me to bring this into fruition. DJ KAYKAY47 for knowing and executing the assignment, Paul from the Bronx Beer Hall for the hook up, Sabs for the borrowed signs, and the best bartender in the world Amanda for slinging the drinks. 💗 UGA ORIGINAL - CHARMIN 65 - DEDICADO - 1972. 📍 Bronx, Nueva York. 1972 + 1973. 👤 Le dicen CHARMIN 65. Del Bronx, original member de United Graffiti Artists. ✏️ ¿Cómo empezó? UGA fue influential artist collective de early graffiti writers fundado en 1972 por Hugo Martinez. Miembros incluían SNAKE 1, SJK 171, MIKE 171, STITCH 1, HENRY 161, WICKED GARY, BAMA, COCO 144, CHARMIN 65, PHASE 2, FLINT 707 y varios otros. Charmin 65 estuvo entre la primera generación decorando NYC subway cars en 1970s y fue parte de la primera generación que llevó graffiti de calles a galerías. UGA 1973 presenta rare footage del grupo UGA en trabajo en studio junto a documentación de su participación en el ballet Deuce Coupe de Twyla Tharp en el Joffrey Ballet 1973.
