Libby Knight has had quite a month.

The New Providence junior earned a spot on the U.S. U17 girls lacrosse national team, committed to Rutgers for lacrosse and has become the Pioneers’ leading goal scorer on the pitch.

Knight struck for her team-high fifth goal (she's at 7 now!) , finishing a pass from Brooke Macauley in the second half of a 1-0 win at Governor Livingston. Pioneer juniors Macauley and Abby Cheung each have 13 points on the year.

Knight helped anchor a defense that turned last season’s supposed rebuilding year into 11 wins, upsets of Cranford and Summit, and a sectional tournament run. Now she’s delivering at both ends of the field.

GL kept this one within a goal throughout, but the Pioneers’ defense held firm after Knight provided the breakthrough.
