One of the best ways to see the Denali area is by helicopter out to Yanert Glacier. @temscohelicopters #denali #explorealaska #visitdenali #helicopters

Some of my favorite pictures from my adventures in Alaska. Had a total blast with some of my favorite people. Thanks to @brookeinthewild @movementalaskatours for taking me all over. We went to Kodiak and saw sooo many Bears & had the best time exploring and hiking on the island, then we headed up to Denali and I got to stay at Brooke and Jays cute home up there. Ate so many different types of berries! Got to see the most perfect view of Denali. Went to the Alaska state fair with our colorful wigs so we wouldn’t lose each other. Went to Hatchers pass, it’s sooo pretty up there!!! Then went to Alyeska Nordic spa in Girdwood 🩷 one of my favorite places ( I named my Golden Retriever Aly after that ski resort). I’m now convinced I belong up there and need to move.

Meet Your Alaska Guide
So, who is behind the scenes of Movement Alaska? It’s me — Brooke, @brookeinthewild. And I’m here to help you experience Alaska in a way that feels personal, authentic, and unforgettable.
After more than 10 years of guiding, exploring, and living in Alaska, I’ve had the opportunity to take large groups on the road and share some of the incredible places this state has to offer. I still love doing that throughout the year — but now, I’m also creating something a little more personal.

I want to take you on the road.

You and your best friend.
You and your family.
A small group of people you love.

Whether you’re dreaming of chasing wildlife, exploring remote landscapes, finding hidden gems, getting outside your comfort zone, or simply experiencing Alaska beyond the typical tourist trail, I can help create an adventure that’s built around you.

And if you’re not looking for a private guide, I can help with that too. I’ll help you plan the Alaska vacation you’ve been dreaming about — from where to go and what to see to how to make the most of your time here.

The photos may give you a glimpse into who I am and the places I love, but they only tell part of the story. There’s a whole lot more behind them: years of Alaska experience, countless miles on the road, a deep love for this wild place, and a genuine desire to share it with others.

Need a guide for just a day? I can do that, too. Let me take you beyond the obvious and show you some of the coolest places Alaska has to offer.

This isn’t just about checking Alaska off your bucket list.

It’s about experiencing it.

Come explore Alaska with me.

Weeks ago, I was hot, itchy and masked as I put up batts of fiberglass insulation in our @arctichiveak lodge addition. I typically blast loud music in my ears to get through the more challenging (albeit mindless) tasks of building.

Suddenly, Katy Perry - Roar came on my Spotify. I could clearly visualize in my head chanting HAT HARI to the beat with a field of yogis twisting through the kriya (IYKYK)… I knew what needed to be done 😏

This vision came to life in Griffin Park during my class this weekend for the 9th annual @akyogafest, and it 👏 was 👏 glorious👏

I love teaching “The Yoga We Need” so much.

Much love to everyone who came out to be a part of this community event — new friends and familiar faces — and to my fellow organizers for doing the most to make it all happen, @teavil_kinevel @emilysloth1 @brookeinthewild ❤️ Cheers to another year of fun, friendship and growth together!

Four years ago, I told my friend @teavil_kinevel that I wanted to be more involved with @akyogafest. 2022 was my second year teaching at the festival, and I’d come to cherish my experiences getting to know yogis from all over Alaska. Bringing people together makes me happy — and I knew I had some time and love to give.

That August, the AKYOGAFEST board was born :-) Teal, @emilysloth1 and @brookeinthewild and I gathered at @arctichiveak and forged a bond that would carry us through the years. This crew has been through milestones together — pregnancy, juggling motherhood, engagements, surgeries, growing dog teams (🙋🏼‍♀️), moving, running businesses, self growth, you name it. Through it all, we continue to show up each year together — alongside an amazing crew of educators and volunteers from around Alaska, for a cause that’s become so much bigger than any one of us. 💛

This festival is small compared to others in the lower 48, but it’s mighty! It’s like gathering for the day with all your besties, many of which you meet on the mat throughout the day. It’s not a who’s who — the event is truly just about having fun and learning things from whoever is on the mic. Educators and yogis descend on Fairbanks from across the state (some have a 7-12 hour drive time!), all for a unified purpose of sharing these teachings we love so much. The best part? All proceeds of the event benefit an incredible nonprofit in the Fairbanks community, @rcpcfairbanks.

From Laughter yoga to sound baths, kids’ yoga to sensual movement and “The Yoga We Need” (😉) — there’s something for everyone.

So proud of this event. See you all Friday (for my workshop at @littleowlak) and all day Saturday at Griffin Park!
