“Someone is always watching you.” 👀

Not just when you’re successful, but maybe even more importantly, when you’re not.

Campbell shared such a great message with our SDP athletes about playing a game built on failure. Coaches know you’re going to make mistakes. They’re watching to see how you respond when things don’t go your way.
Because your response to failure says a lot about your character.

This was such an important part of the Summer Development Program. 🥰

Yes, we worked on mechanics, skills and competing...but we also wanted these athletes learning about the mindset and character that will help them navigate the hard moments that are inevitably part of this game.

A huge thank you to @cam.germ and all of my BreakThrew alumni who came back to share their knowledge, experiences and passion for the game with the next generation. 🙏👏🙌

There’s something pretty special about watching athletes you once coached turn around and pour into the ones coming behind them. 🥹💕

A little glimpse of what happens when you bring a group of athletes together who WANT to get better. 💕🥎

Three days.
Pitchers + catchers.
College coaches + BreakThrew alumni/college athletes.
A whole lot of learning, competing, making adjustments, asking questions, laughing and connecting.

When I started planning the Summer Development Program, I wanted to give pitchers and catchers something I wish every young athlete had — great people to learn from, a better understanding of their own game, honest feedback on where they are right now, tools to develop the mindset needed to compete, and a clear idea of what to work on next.

Not just a camp where you show up, do some drills and go home.

I wanted them to understand the WHY behind what they were doing. To hear different voices and different ways of teaching. To be challenged to make adjustments. To ask questions. And ultimately, to leave knowing more about themselves as athletes than they did when they walked in.

There was a LOT of softball packed into those three days, but some of what I wanted these athletes to take away couldn't be taught through a drill 👀👇

What an incredible three days. 🔥👏

I’m working on putting together all the highlights from our first Summer Development Program, but I couldn’t wait to say THANK YOU.

This event was everything I hoped it would be — and more.

To the amazing college coaches and my BreakThrew alumni who poured so much into these athletes this week: thank you. You shared your knowledge, your experiences, your energy, and your love for the game so generously. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to help bring this program to life.

To the parents: thank you for trusting us with your daughters and giving us the opportunity to spend three days teaching, challenging, encouraging, and getting to know them.

And to our pitchers and catchers — you were SPONGES this week. You asked questions. You tried new things. You listened. You competed. And you were willing to work on not only the physical side of the game, but the mindset side too. I hope you left excited about what you learned and, even more importantly, excited to keep doing the work at home.

And a huge thank you to 3T’s Clubhouse and their staff for being so great to work with and for allowing us to use their beautiful facility. It was the perfect home for this program!

I have SO many pictures and videos to share over the next few days, so if you weren’t able to join us this summer, you’ll get a little sneak peek into what the Summer Development Program was all about.

And yes…we’re already making plans to do a couple of these programs again next summer! 🤗🥳
