Lemme get REALLY REAL with you.

When I first started brows (self taught, mind you) I had TWO clients that I was taking in our basement apartment. And that’s where I thought I would make out my career before deciding it somehow made sense to rent a room for $1,000 a month (LOL). I was already in the hole before I even began. We had just gotten married, I was our only source of income, and I had absolutely no business taking on that kind of financial responsibility.

And let’s be honest… I did not know how to do brows. I had maybe four reps under my belt. But I did know this: if I could take it one day at a time and break big goals into tiny daily actions, I could build something real. And a lot of the time, those “actions” were one step forward and two steps back, because that’s literally what progress looks like.

Then I had some health complications and ended up back in our basement apartment (there’s the two steps back). I took clients all day every day in our tiny space — “hi, please step over our shoes and ignore our living room” vibes. Zero work/life balance. But we kept showing up anyway.

And here’s the real kicker: none of it looked cute. None of it felt “meant to be.” Most days I was just hoping no one could tell I was winging it. But every tiny action,
every client in the over budget room, every appointment in that basement, every day I kept going when it would’ve been easier to tap out, it all added up.

And honestly? Even now it doesn’t feel like I’ve “made it.”
There’s still so much to learn, so much room to grow, and a hundred things I’m figuring out in real time. But that’s kind of the point?!! you don’t wait to feel official or perfect… you just keep doing the dang things.

That’s literally how we got here.
Not from luck.
From showing up when it was awkward, inconvenient, unglamorous, and sometimes borderline embarrassing.

So if you’re in your own messy beginning, don’t discredit it.

That season where nothing makes sense? That’s the season that shapes you.

Keep going.
One tiny action at a time.
You have no idea how far it’ll take you. 🤍
