Not the Birthday Surprise I was hoping for, but it was just what I needed! i’ve been in quite a lot of pain for the past couple of months. If you’ve seen me, you’ve likely seen a look of anguish on my face; probably tears, too. Early yesterday morning - on my 58th birthday - I asked Stephen to take me to the ER. Several hours later, we learned the back pain has been caused by a compression fracture in my L2 vertebra, due to the spread of breast cancer there. That explained a lot! I was admitted so they could manage the pain, and I am scheduled for a kyphoplasty procedure sometime tomorrow. I’m always thankful for my husband and kids, but especially the way they rolled with the “change of venue” for my birthday dinner last night. Don’t feel sorry for me. I was given the incredible gift of pain relief for my birthday!🎉 I was also blessed with friends and family visits. Thank you, all, for loving me so well!♥️ I look forward to reading each birthday message posted over the next week.
