Today marks the end of an 8 month journey learning from some of the best episodic directors in the biz. Thank you to the @directorsguild for creating the Director Development Initiative.

Deeply grateful to @getjackson for taking me on as his protege. TY for mentorship, script notes, and willingness to foster this bi-coastal relationship.

Congrats to my fellow mentees! It was a privilege to learn with / from you. Action!

Special thx to my lover, friend, and teammate, @elizabetadavis, for holding down the family fort during my trips back and forth to Los Angeles.

Working in the LA DGA boardroom.
Definitely worth the back and forth from NYC ✈️ LA.

The iconic director Andy Wolk - an incredible teacher and artist.

The NYC cohort who racked up the airline miles!

Breaking down camera placement and shot sheets with the legend Mary Lou Belli

I had the incredible honor of interviewing two of the creatives behind “Josephine,” for an Alliance of Women Directors “Back to Set” panel on Visual Storytelling. We talked camera tests, creating the right style to match your film’s emotion and tone, and most importantly, choosing the right creative team for your film.

“Josephine,” the 2026 Sundance U.S. Dramatic Competition and Audience Award winner, was written & Directed by Beth de Araújo with Greta Zozula as cinematographer. I had a blast getting to know them and talking movie making!

Thank you Alliance of Women Directors for asking me!

Also in this post are some fun shots from the weekend as an attendee and volunteer — I even had the chance to meet Bethany Rooney who literally wrote the book on directing (with Mary Lou Belli!).
