Safe to say, I think the algorithm is the bane of everyone’s existence at this point BUT it does work. After this conversation, @arne_ohlsen told us it had switched something up in him. He started posting reels that felt authentic to him and everything went up. Engagement, followers and sales.

. HOLD YOUR HORSES 01.10.26 Behind the scenes of the making of my latest collection of original oil paintings . 🍎 A full circle moment that feel like a returning to a place both familiar, playful and surreal. Horses have been a huge part of my life, especially as a child, bringing a sense of sturdiness to my character, having responsibility from a young age and truly respecting the beautiful and healing nature of horses and their wisdom. 🧡 Living In Australia means that usually find my way to these nostalgic lands through my work, I bring them with me, finding a sense of peace and comfort whilst working from afar. So returning to the land that Is filled with nostalgia, one has seen me through so many seasons of life, in order to create these works feels really special 🐴 Shoutout to the team @brownfeliicity and @freddyjarmstrong for the photos helping to make the vision come to life !! Coming OCTOBER 1st 🐴

On the 26th of September we welcome you to our second live at @wildhorsescph This time we will be joined by @danielvandernoon and @brownfeliicity Daniel is a visual artist working predominantly with drawing, painting and writing. Originally from Birmingham, Daniel has been living and working in Denmark for the last 15 years. Through his practice he explores memory, using painting as a way of returning to and reworking the past. Images are built from remembered places, objects and moments, often combining personal recollection with photographs and other visual references. Rather than trying to reconstruct the past faithfully, the paintings explore the way memories shift, overlap and become altered over time. Witness of that his last work exposed at the @wildhorsesgallery “A Leg and a Wing to Save the King” Straight from Australia, Felicity is a pure creative soul, a strategist designer and film maker working at the intersection of fashion, people, culture and arts. Her goal, she says,is to ‘’reimagine mediocre branding while also educating businesses on the best practices so you can walk away feeling confident to continue on the same trajectory.” Felicity says: ‘’In a sea of forgettable content I create media that is sought out, not forced upon’’ See you on Saturday the 26th 🍷

Customer intent is crucial when understanding why your work isn’t selling. Out of 100 people, 3% of them are ready to purchase when they find you or your art. It’s important you have a system set up where that other 97% enters the funnel and is nurtured through organic platforms like social channels and email lists so when they are ready to purchase and you have something to offer, they’re already there waiting. You dont have to find them again and they don’t have to go looking for you. It is just as important to nurture your existing customers (MOF/BOF) as it is to continue acquiring new potential customers with long term strategies in mind.

I think the whole system around creating content beats us down. It’s a full time job, and marketing agencies are even refusing to take on social media management clients because it’s too much work for 1 person nowadays. But what if as a creative person, making content of your work was allowed to evolve into another branch of your practice? Putting the urgency to post and impatient attitude towards algorithms aside, maybe it would be more fun if you allowed the time to play and have fun with content while your personal style developed instead of biting at the seam to pump out the same thing as everyone else.

In some industries how-to content can translate to sales. “How-to style my new jeans” will draw attention to a specific brand or cut of pants. “How to make a nourishing meal” can direct to a cookbook or a nutrition plan. How-to content in the creative space looks like giving away (for free) the tips, tricks and techniques you spent years harnessing so the internet can copy them. All in the name of engagement and the chance of a few sales? Tailor your content to suit your customer. Define who they are, what they like and what you think they’d like to see and make content FOR THEM. You may not reach as many people, but you’ll generate higher quality leads.
