I have a very vivid memory of visiting my late aunt in Croydon, the first time she asked me as a little girl with twinkling eyes "Do you want to lick the bowl?" since then its part of baking, one must lick the bowl in order to get a slice of cake. My 3 monkeys ... well 4😉, I cant forget the leader of the pack, who hate it when I dont leave enough batter in the bowl, who wrestle with each other in who gets the utensil with the most batter, whilst covering their faces with batter🤦‍♀️. This time I got some batter on a freshly cleaned wall!🤦‍♀️ Had it not been an invitation from @brownmomdiary to share baking with kids, I would not have captured these funny moments. Like all mums, i do get annoyed at mess, I do get annoyed at a lot of things, but few things here.... 1. I was feeling exhausted and no energy to tell them off.... 2. Sometimes you have to behave infront of the camera😉 3. Sometimes you need to let kids be kids and enjoy these memories. As I linger on to make sense out of the overwhelming gaslighting on “how women should live their lives” over the past few days that stirred the patriarchic upheaval, I write this to educate you regarding three popular misconceptions about women empowerment: . . • Women empowerment perpetuates hatred and disrespect toward men! • Wearing scarfs, head-covers, hijab or gowns is a symbol of oppression, and not a choice! • Women demand freedom to walk naked in the streets, hence promoting vulgarity! . A call for gender equality neither undermines men nor advocates misandry in any way. It stands for impartiality, fairness and justice for all, contrary to the habituated tyranny toward women around the globe, particularly in South Asia. Therefore, marching for women rights does not mean that we tend to contempt, humiliate or disregard our fathers, brothers or sons in any way. . Furthermore, though women are potentially led to adapt a confined lifestyle mapped by men to this date (and thus we march against oppression), but it is to bring under your attention that not all women wear dupattas/scarfs, hijab or burkhas/gowns out of force or free will! Hence, we ought to grant, and respect, the liberty of choice to everybody. . Lastly, women empowerment does not promote vulgarity, nudity or unethical values. It stands for basic rights (right to consent, education, environmental justice, equality, an end to domestic violence, sexual harassment, child marriages and forced conversions, reproductive rights and the right to freedom of thought, expression and religion – including the freedom to choose what to wear according to your personal values!). . It’s time we understand the essence of gender equality & women empowerment to preach humanity because women = human beings.

So sharing some beautiful memories with u all❤️ FIRST thing my dear husband said to me after we got married was nothing different from a typical MASHRAQI beta could have said... Yaad rakhna mere Maa baap khush to main khush... Hmmm... And I bet he doesn't even remember his dialogues now😂.. The FIRST BIRTHDAY GIFT I received from him was a favourite perfume of mine and he knew that... blue lady... 😍 It's till today I always have it in my collection ❤️ . The FIRST ODD AND FUNNY FARMAESH I did was on the very first trip we traveled together... Wohi, jisay honey moon kehtay hain 😂.. Hmmm... I still laugh when I remember his reaction 😂. We were on our way to Murree, And what I never forget nor do I let him forget (we wives you know 😉) is that he slept right after half n hour when our journey started and I kept thinking all the way really?? Matlab sari zindagi ki neend abhi puri krna thi? 🤔 To hua Yoon k jaise hi bus had its first stop right in the middle of night, I woke him up and asked him to bring me a packet of chips. He without thinking for a second even, jumped off the bus, there were few people in line there already and he waited for his turn to buy me that. Coming back to me he was like, seriously? Tum koi bchi ho jo chips lainay thay? 😂..ab bnda akelay beth k aur kya karay 🤷‍♀️ . Out of all the wedding traditions that we have is the FIRST DISH cooked by the newly wed bride should be sweet ❤️I made Zarda (sweet rice) after 3 months of my marriage.Its not that I didn't k ow cooking but you know at your parents it's a different thing, bna liya kbhi, kbhi nahi.. So it was quite a stress to cook something without your mom around and back then google aunty ki itni aadat bhi nahi thi k aik dafa recipe hi check krli jaey 😂.. But alhamdulillah Everyone liked it and i was rewarded with some money as "well done ❤️" for the first and last time ever till today😂😜😂 . So what did you cook for the first time? How did it go? 😀 . Hi there all! In #collaboration with  @mommynextdoorblog, I am here to share my life #experience in #pardes .... KSA it is ❤️ And I will just talk what I love about it here.. Let's be just positive! ❤️ . Goes without saying that Makkah and Madina are the biggest blessings here for the people living in Saudia.. Easy approach, no big plannings and you can visit whenever you want to (and I here too still believe strongly in "qismat ka bulaawa") . Inspite of the Hijab Mode here, I really love the independence and liberty which the ladies enjoy ❤️ they have their gatherings in parks, in malls, in restaurants.. They enjoy their life just as any non hijabi does without any restrictions❤️ . The ramadan here, the beautiful mosques, wherever you travel there's a ladies praying area.. Keeps refreshing your emaan . The lifestyle here is so moderate... . You get a full Friday off, a complete family mode on, you have a peaceful time to pray.. Mostly the family gatherings happen on Friday (weekend) as rest of the week is so occupied! You easily use Disposables to serve your guests without any hesitation😜 no bartan dhonay ka jhanjhat!! . It's just the language barrier here which I feel awkward about and inspite of desiring to learn Arabic, I haven't yet! And the weekly grocery in one go and in case if you forget something then better to wait for next weekend! . Having said all, having enjoyed all the stuff here, I really miss my home country at times alot! Pakistan it is! I miss the rains, the easy access to fresh vegetables daily! You happen to see your dear ones on every other day without any weekend restrictions! And The all day serving  chaey k cup! . The busy routine, you wake up with the door bell.. Doodh wala aya hai to kabhi sabzi wala aur kabhi koi relatives agaey.. Maid agai to safai krwa lo(the most difficult supervision) 😀 . Life there isn't relaxing as it is here.. Life here isn't exciting as it is there. It's just that every place has its own challenges. Life is never easy for anyone! It simply can't be 😊 so stop comparing your lives  with others giving a feel that it's only you who knows what life is all about 💞❤️💞 . Live and let live! . #expatlife
