🚣‍♂️ Head of the Charles 2026 🇺🇸
We’ve had an amazing time in Boston! ❤️ A big highlight was visiting @harvard with our very own Elam Hughes.
So special to see so many alumni racing for @harvardheavies , @washingtonmrowing , @gonuwrowing , @brownwcrew and @bcrowing ! 🙌not to forget @martyrs_boatclub
Both our boys’ and girls’ crews took a big step forward from last year, earning higher starting positions for next year’s race. 💪
Lots learnt, plenty to be proud of, and both crews are fired up for the season ahead! 🔥

In the build up to Head of the Charles 2026, AllMarkOne spent a day with the team from Brown Women’s Crew after they return from a recent trip to Dartmouth.

Brown start the season after an impressive performance in the UK this summer winning the Island Challenge Cup at Henley Royal for the second time in the events six year history.

‘Twas the night before Gardner Cup…

The 2026-27 season kicks off at home as we welcome Brown for a scrimmage on Homecoming weekend!

The racing format is 2 x 4.5k starting from Ledyard Bridge heading upstream and the second piece finishing at the Bridge. Come down to the boathouse and cheer on all three programs as we celebrate 40 years of the Friends of Dartmouth Boathouse!

Take out a pen and paper.

Grace Collins, assistant coach at Brown, gives the recruits she speaks to the same exercise every time. Not a shortlist. Not a ranking. Two questions:

What is your definition of success?
What does a successful four years actually look like for you?

Almost nobody writes it down, and when you don’t, the answer gets filled in by everyone else. The names other people rate. The offers your teammates already have. The sense that you should be further along by now.

There are far more programmes that will let you do what you want to do than most athletes realise. The hard part is knowing what that is.

Zoom out for a second. Getting to compete at the next level is a privilege, and joy is allowed to be part of the definition. Your teammates are not sitting in the boat with you. Your family is not sitting in the classroom with you. You are.

The crew vs the supporters 💙 🚣

This is what they mean when they say "something bigger than yourself" 🥹

The USA Women’s National Team brings you the 2026 edition of College Uni Day!
.
From the @bigten to the @ivyleague to the @accsports and @sec and everywhere in between we are all so proud to rep our Alma maters. Collegiate rowing is direct pipeline to our National Team, and we are all so grateful of the support and teams that helped us get to the World stage. 100% of our squad were @ncaa student athletes — cheers to collegiate women in the boat!

Henley is the dream for many rowers globally. Side by side racing, a unique distance, massive support, iconic dress codes, the blue and white tents, and the draw of the red box.

It was definitely a goal for me. Since high school I have followed along and dreamt of racing between the booms. This year I was finally in the right side of the world and able to compete… and it did not disappoint.

A few more shots of the general atmosphere at this year’s Henley Regatta. It’s hard to describe in words if you’ve never been there.

Some of the winners featured here are the Brown University women’s rowing squad who won this years Island Cup challenge. Cambridge University men’s team - winner of the Temple Cup. Marlow women winning the Diamond Jubilee, and Italian Teams winning the Hambleden Pairs Cup and Queen Mother Challenge Cup.
