Finally made it to @supremefitness_co and closed out my prep with some mobility and light bench work. The rest of the week will be strictly focused on mobility and some light cardio. I experienced some ups and downs during this prep and when it's all said and done, I just want to walk away as healthy as possible with some more State records under my belt. If you rock with me try to make it out to support if you can, because this will be my final meet of the year, the following week I'm going to get a much needed MRI done on my knee and go from there. I appreciate everyone who has supported in each and every way since I started powerlifting 2 years ago. Fun fact my very first meet was October 4th, 2024 with the same meet director I'm closing out the year with. That's also when and where I met my coach and the man responsible for helping to bring the best out of me on that platform @brendankpike This sport has allowed me to realize just how much stronger I am than I realized and to find it at 46 and be able to reach 2 Nationals and 1 International level competition has meant a lot to me. I've met a lot of great people along my journey, and learned a hell of a lot from all of you in one way or another. This isn’t goodbye, just time to take a break and let my body heal, and who knows, I might pop out in time for a Masters Cup🫡💪🏿👑. #NewLifeResolution #Powerlifting #fyp

What started as a bunch of random people showing up at the same gym at the same time, turned into something much more. We make it a point to get together consistently, regardless of the occasion. Appreciate the invite bro @phrozen_service06 @brucesteele52 @beautyintellect @marvinlibra1020 @allenomega1996

I don't really do much during the week and I'm normally in bed by 7:30ish. But when my bro @brucesteele52 said he was going to compete in @dynamicfitnesshtx deadlift contest, me and @mk_2funny had to pull up to show our support. Now I'm trying to convince him to step on that platform for real one good time😂. Great job bro, you definitely had 600 in you🫡💪🏿👑 #NewLifeResolution

Records are meant to be set and eventually broken. Someone held them before me, and I’m sure someone will break mine one day. I’m just grateful that, during my very short 2-year powerlifting career, I’ve been able to check a number of boxes along the way. Some may say I waited too late to start powerlifting at 46. Hell, if you ask me, at 48, I started right on time. Now I’m about to take some time to cut weight and get back down to where I’m most comfortable, around 210–215 pounds. The journey continues as I work toward that 600-pound deadlift, build a stronger bench, and get these knees, and this struggle squat, where they need to be. 😂 Say what you want, but the improvement, progress, and consistency speak for themselves. I appreciate everyone who has poured into me throughout this journey. Although only a handful of people are pictured, make no mistake, I truly have a tribe that supports me 110%. I appreciate all of y’all. 🫡💪🏿👑 #NewLifeResolution Coach: @brendankpike @pikeperformancehtx My @dynamicfitnesshtx tribe: @phrozen_service06 @brucesteele52 @allenomega1996 @marvinlibra1020 @beautyintellect @malakai_11_ @fit_np_momof3 @portahfamily @itzchristall @richmadefit @im_a_trip Platform shirts always brought to in collaboration with @selfvalidated_apparel1 And so many more I didn’t get a chance to mention! Otherwise, I’d be typing all day, and I don’t have time for that because I’m working on my résumé right now. 😂 I’ll just keep tagging y’all as I make updates and edits on the fly. 😂 To support the continued journey, shop with any of my brand sponsors and use code NEWLIFERESOLUTION for a discount. I didn’t get a chance to post the link for my friends/family who support me, and for that I apologize. Here's a quick snippet of some of my lifts on yesterday. For anyone who knows me, then it's well known I went into this meet as the underdog due to my struggle squat😂. Since I started powerlifting 2 years ago, I've had adductor strains on each leg plus more recently, issues with my left knee. Due to the amount of downtime and rehab, and focusing on my bench and deadlift my squat suffered tremendously and it flat out sucked😂😂😂. Even with me having a disadvantage due to my squat, by the time we got to the last deadlift, I jumped up to 2nd place. I'll do a full recap tomorrow, right now I'm about to board my connecting flight and get home. Thanks to @uspapower for putting on such an awesome event! Appreciate you @truehope09 for helping me get out of them tight azz knee sleeves 😂 Thanks to @sarah_strongherlifts who saw the potential and helped me tweak my squat and deadlift technique. Thanks to @ghunter_champ for the awesome job at handling me yesterday. Thanks to my Coach @brendankpike who guided me to this point. Even when I felt like I wasn't making the progress I wanted to make, come game time, you believe in me enough to make the calls I probably wouldn’t make for myself💯. We walked away with 6 platform PRs, and 2 Silver Medals🫡💪🏿👑 Gotta thank my gym crew who hold me accountable, and motivate me on them days I don't feel like doing nothing 😂. @phrozen_service06 @marvinlibra1020 @brucesteele52 @allenomega1996 @beautyintellect Mr. Neal Wilson my favorite spotter and everyone else at @dynamicfitnesshtx who continue to pour into me.
