I had to say my frickin’ piece on this today!!! 😱

I woke up this morning, checked @snatamkaurkhalsa Spotify for Artists, and realised something was wrong. It led to a much bigger conversation about how music gets heard, and what happens when the platforms we rely on to share our work start working against the very people who make it!

AI generated music can make it onto Release Radar, but a live recording from an artist who has spent 25 years building a relationship with her listeners? Apparently, not.

This is so much bigger than one release. We’re talking about the future of music, the people who make it, who chooses whether or not it gets HEARD, and whether we’re willing to fight for a system that prioritises human beings, and allows artists to BE ARTISTS!

Snatam’s new live single, Guru Ram Das (Live in Gdańsk), is out now. It’s beautiful, and captured a super special evening for us as a team. If it isn’t showing up in your usual places, please go find it. Listen, share it, and help the music find its people.❤️

I’ve known this mantra since I was a little girl. My stepfather would sing it to me at night, and I found a sense of safety and comfort in the words. I continued singing it through my teenage years, into adulthood and motherhood, returning to it during difficult times and finding that it could shift something in me when I needed it most.

I composed this melody for my third album, Shanti (2003), and performed it countless times over the years. It became a deeply meaningful, transformative and miraculous part of my concerts, and I shared it with audiences across the world, before eventually setting it aside for about fifteen years.

Then, quite unexpectedly, I felt drawn to sing it again.

We recorded this live version in Gdańsk, Poland, on April 11, 2026. Earlier that day, I had walked through the woods near the sea and felt deeply connected to the natural world around me. That feeling stayed with me into the evening. When we began singing, I felt a beautiful sense of connection between the band and the audience and the elements, and the song seemed to create a space of stillness and peace in the room.

After so many years, it was so special to bring this song to the stage again and to hear it carried by so many voices. I’m grateful to share this live recording and to bring this piece back into the world. You can hear it wherever you usually stream music, and watch the video on my YT channel 💙

Special thanks to the band:

We’re busy making memories of a life we’re somewhere in the process of living. At the same time, you’re just there. Singing the songs, laughing at the silly jokes, watching the people you love do the things they do, in any particular glow of any particular evening. You don’t know which moments will stay. You can’t possibly know that a certain sound, a breath, the look on someone’s face from across a stage will settle somewhere behind your eyes and your heart, and rest there, with warmth, with permanence, for the rest of your life.

The days pass, the tour ends. And somehow, all those little moments have become part of you. The people with you have left their mark on the person you are, as you have on them. We keep painting this life a stroke of a brush at a time, with no idea what the whole picture will look like. For the fact that some of mine gets to look like this, I am so damn grateful ❤️

My great, great loves @snatamkaurkhalsa @bruno.justi @ramdassmusic @electricvardo ❤️

Warming up another time as we come to the end of this three week tour with @snatamkaurkhalsa and my bandmates @sukhmanimusic and @bruno.justi. It has been a sincere joy to get to travel around the US and Canada on this tour and I feel extremely lucky to get to share time with these amazing people and all of you who have come to listen to us and sing along.
