Kelly made HISTORY as the first woman from our Jiu-Jitsu program to win a competition representing Kaizen! 🥇💪

Kelly stepped onto those mats representing not just herself, but our entire Women’s Jiu-Jitsu team. Her determination, hard work, and incredible performance made us all so proud!

🥉 PAN AMERICAN IBJJF CHAMPIONSHIP! 🥉

Professor Bruno: Less than a month after taking 3rd place at the IBJJF World Masters Championship in the Gi, Bruno stepped onto the mats at the IBJJF Pan American Championship to compete in No-Gi… and came home with another **3rd-place **🥉🔥

Not bad for a guy who only competes in the Gi! 😮‍💨🤣👏🏼

O menino que começou a treinar Jiu-Jitsu em Paranavaí no início dos anos 2000 sem dinheiro para pagar a academia ou comprar um quimono, hoje celebra pódio no Mundial da modalidade.

A história é do paranavaiense Bruno Cesar Dias, de 40 anos, mais conhecido como Bruno Jacaré, que conquistou recentemente o terceiro lugar no Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu, disputado em Las Vegas, nos Estados Unidos. Na categoria leve, até 76 quilos, faixa-preta, Bruno enfrentou uma chave com 71 atletas. A medalha é inédita para o Jiu-Jitsu de Paranavaí.

These kiddos know the key to Professor Bruno’s heart. 🥹

They came to train, but what they’ve found on the mat is so much more than jiu-jitsu. It’s friendships, mentorship, confidence, and relationships that extend far beyond the walls of the academy.

A hand-drawn picture might seem like a small gesture, but watching Professor Bruno get this emotional over it says everything. ❤️

The relationships built on the mat are pretty hard to beat!

Creating these images from portraits I’ve shot at Worlds has me feeling inspired heading into IBJJF No-Gi Pans next weekend!

Every athlete who books with me will receive a private gallery of their competition photos. Once all galleries are delivered, I’ll create an artistic bonus portrait for each booked athlete and will add it to their private gallery about a week later. I want everyone to get their match photos promptly, then give these edits the time they deserve.

If you’d like coverage at Pans, send me a message to get on my list! Once brackets are released, I’ll confirm all athlete coverage to make sure there are no conflicts (including with my own match). If I’m unable to cover you, I’ll do my best to help you find another photographer who may be available.

A moment worth sharing again. 💚

We’ve shared this video before, but it’s one of those conversations that we wanted to bring back.

Standing in front of a beautiful wall (shout out @framecenter )
filled with medals he’s earned throughout his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey, Professor Bruno was asked which one was the most important to him.

His answer..
his very first one. 🥹

Not because it was the biggest tournament or the most prestigious medal on the wall, but because of what it represented.

He was a scrawny kid who was being bullied and going through a really hard time. Jiu-Jitsu gave him confidence. It gave him something to believe in. And that first medal became the beginning of a journey that led him to where he is today.

Looking at that medal now, after everything he’s accomplished, is a pretty powerful reminder that sometimes the hardest chapters become the ones we’re most proud to look back on.

Yhat first medal isn’t the only one with a story. Professor Bruno shares a few others that were especially meaningful, challenging, or hard-earned along the way.

You never really know where one decision, one class, or one moment of believing in yourself can take you.

Keep showing up. Keep pushing yourself. Keep getting one percent better everyday. 🙏🥋

There’s just something special about being able to do a sport with your kid. ❤️

You get to learn together, laugh together, struggle together, and celebrate the little wins together. And along the way, you’re building a bond and memories that go way beyond the sport itself.

One of the things we love about Kaizen is that we have classes where parents and kids can train alongside each other.

Because someday they’ll be grown, and you’ll look back and remember that you got to do this together. 🥹🥋

🌎🥋 IBJJF WORLD MASTER - LAS VEGAS 🥋🌎

PROFESSOR BRUNO IS A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MEDALIST!!! 🥉

At the beginning of September, Professor Bruno and his family made the drive to Las Vegas to compete at the IBJJF World Master, one of the biggest and most prestigious tournaments in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

And he came home with 3rd place in the world.

Five fights.
A division of 70+ competitors.
Five opportunities.

Jiu-jitsu is Bruno’s world. It’s something he has dedicated so much of his life to- the training, the teaching, the coaching, the early mornings, the long days, the wins, the losses, and all of the moments in between.

If you know Professor Bruno, you know that his love for jiu-jitsu doesn’t stop with his own journey. He pours that same dedication, compassion, and passion into his students and his team every single day. He wants the people around him to grow, to believe in themselves, and to become 1% better every time they step on the mat.

So to see the person who gives so much to our Kaizen family step onto a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PODIUM is incredibly special.

Bruno, we are so proud of you. Proud of the athlete, the professor, the leader, the teammate, and the person you are.

And to your family, thank you for making the journey with him and being part of this incredible moment, we love you! 💚
