I’ve gotten a lot of certificates, awards, & diplomas in my life; but this by far is one of THE BEST I’ve received! So much more than a piece of paper and what comes with it is something that can’t be taken away. I used to always say “can’t take my education away” as I was making my way through community college and then a University college while being a Mama of 3 at the time. But now I can also say as a Mama of 4, you can’t take away the cleanliness and clean slate that’s gifted by God given to me by grace either! This feeling is so special!

So I have been a bit silent. I had gotten really sick for over 60 days, lost my voice and ability to sing. Even doing some damage to my vocal cords placing me on vocal rest since January. And not being able to do gigs for the remainder of this year in order to recover. In this time, I have had to lean in and trust God. I love to sing. But what I have discovered in this time of rest is just that-REST! To some it comes more easily. To others it doesn’t. Either way, this time and season has been a gift. And I have created something in this time that has helped me center and align my steps and day more towards focusing on God’s kingdom. I created a journal and app. It’s called The Early Church Journal. Day by day rhythms for Gods people. It’s essentially a liturgical habit app — combining daily examen, breath prayer, praise, fasting, and prayer walking into one trackable rhythm. It’s themed on Acts 2:42 and how the early church believers devoted their daily lives to The Apostles Teaching, Fellowship, Breaking Bread and the prayers daily. This was not just a Sunday event. It was day by day. This app has helped me align every day from 6am to 6am seeking Gods kingdom first and allowing him to heal and align me. This has changed my life! As for music….it is reshaping. For a few months I’ve been feeling the strongest urge to get Baptized in my adult life and current and most obedient walk of faith in my life. I did it as a child but it was influenced by my parents. When I heard that Baptism Sunday was scheduled to happen at Real Life, the only church I’ve gone to and the church I’ve made my home since leaving my hometown and moving to central Florida years ago, I just knew that was the day I’d finally jump in that water again. As the date started to approach I knew I had a certain pastor in mind that I wanted to Baptize me but didn’t know if I’d be lucky enough to even be able to request him. As I was walking in the hallway to get changed, there he was, but clothed in regular clothes because he had already done baptisms after the first service and I attend the second service. I didn’t hesitate for one second to ask, “can you do it?” And without a single pause he said, “let me go get changed!” He changed his clothes so he could help me become a changed a life. Being able to request him and have it granted without a single pause or hiccup was another blessing on top of the blessing in getting baptized as an adult! I am so grateful for this church, for all the pastors and of course pastor @bryan_roe for helping lead my home to Jesus! #WhatILoveAboutSundays #BaptismSunday #ILeftItInTheWater #RealLife #GodsCrazyAboutYou

Big thanks to Pastor @bryan_roe for changing clothes after second service and jumping in the water with me to be the one to do this! I was baptized at 9 years old but have been feeling the need to do it as an adult now that I fully understand and grasp the importance of what this means as a Christian and believer that Jesus is the only way. I grew up in church but I’ve been on a firm walk of faith since the end of last year and have found such purpose in my life and a deeper understanding of Gods word since getting back into a daily walk and weekly church life at @reallifefl Couldn’t have thought of a better place or better day to LEAVE IT ALL IN THE WATER than Baptism Sunday at Real Life Church! #BaptismSunday #RealLifeChurch #Baptism #ILeftItInTheWater #Cleansed
