When @xylafoxlin asks you to speak on her panel, can you really say no?

First time speaking on a panel at OSH, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to hang out with!

I’ve wanted to photograph KOSH during Airventure for many years, and while I’ve gone to the event several times via commercial airlines, this was the first time I’ve had the privilege to fly-in and camp for 8 days with an incredible group of people.

To get this photo required flying the famous Fisk arrival THREE times due to the technical challenge of getting the camera lined properly and far enough from the approach, since ATC gives extremely short base to final turns.

@eaa Airventure is an event that’s hard to describe to those who haven’t experienced it. In the span of just over a week, nearly 750,000 people, 10,000+ aircraft, and 1,000+ exhibitors descend on the town of Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the world’s largest aviation celebration.

Shown here is runway 36L, measuring 8,002 x 150ft. It’s one of the two runways that serve the 15,000 plus aircraft operations during Airventure week, briefly making the control tower the busiest in the world.

The past two weeks has brought life ONE new airplane, 7 marvellous days at OSH26, 3000 miles roadtrip, 2 new friends, meet-up with 5 old friends and passing through 5 US states, and finally 3 timezones…
Who would have imagined this 50 days ago when my plane was wrecked on Iceland 🤷‍♂️ - life is good 🙏♥️✈️🐻

This is your sign to get your tailwheel endorsement. ✈️

Some of the most rewarding flying happens in airplanes with a tailwheel. They teach you to slow down, stay ahead of the airplane, and appreciate the art of stick-and-rudder flying.

Who knows... your next favorite airplane might be an old Cub. 😉

One of the best things about Oshkosh is running into old friends and make a new ones. Some of them you never see except at Oshkosh and sometimes you make friends at Oshkosh that become lifelong buddies. There are so many awesome people here doing amazing things most with Aviation but some Just generally amazing people.. It’s really awesome to see the young people keeping Aviation alive and encouraging others to seek their dream and live life to the fullest.
