A series of photos I was lowkey pregnant in🌀

In those two weeks, while I was between thinking and knowing that life was growing in my womb, I experienced a tension I’d never had to hold so closely.

I was on call for a mom to go into labor and give birth to her baby, so I waited. Simultaneously, my aunt got placed in hospice. So we waited. I waited for life and I waited for death, at the same time.

The afternoon that my friend gave birth, I sat in the hallway of the hospital and with a sigh of relief, a floodgate I had held back was released. I cried for the first time over my aunt, knowing I was sitting in the hospital rejoicing that a baby was born and in a room somewhere else she was on the verge of passing.

Two days later, I found out I was pregnant. The next day my aunt passed away. I don’t know how to explain the way life and death are intertwined. Or why both my pregnancies have been so close to the passing of my loved ones.

But I know that there is something in that very thin line that is supposed to show us what we are living for, who we are living for, what we are made of, how to love without reservations, and how we use our time that has been gifted to us.

God rest your soul, my sweet Tia Iselita.

Big shout out to all of you who rocked The Daiq Off!
The energy, love and support that this city carries is truly unmatched! I couldn’t be prouder of my industry, my community, my tribe, and my @santateresarum family who encourages our individuality & far out ideas.
All these inspiring personalities, walks of life, old school, new faces, next generation… together uplifting and drinking daiquiris in one hot ass room. 🤣
Cheers to our charismatic and extra smooth referee @bar_life101 who encourages everyone to be the best version of themselves, and to @thesylvesterbar for allowing us to host memories and good times.
Cheers to our genuine, class act judges @alli_torres13 @barnajeremias @croquetasgratis who continue to set the bar high.
And cheers to you! For making me fall in love with what I do over and over.

Let’s continue to fill each others cups… with darn good good rum!

Great #rollout and very appreciative of those who could make it and show support to 2 amazing causes for this month. #breastcancerawareness and #downsyndromeawareness and at the end we were invited to participate in an ongoing #photoshoot which came out awesome, once again we appreciate those who came and look forward to the next rollout in November!
