Five of the most incredible years of my life. Heliguy was more than just a job - it pushed me to limits I didn’t know I had, and I worked with people that were like a second family to me. The highs, the lows, and everything in between, the experiences I had, the insights I gained, and the relationships I formed. I’ll be forever grateful, truly.

Sydney trip! Can't believe it had been almost a decade since my last visit here, but @lauren_mclane_voices and @bryanpcheney having their not-a-wedding was a great excuse to visit xx

Got to dress up in some cute outfits and make some excellent food and wine stops as per usual.

We are still on cloud 9 after yesterday! This little corner of the South West turned the magic up a notch for Lauren & Bryan who had flown in from Sydney. Originally from L.A, this was their first time in W.A. What an honour it was showing them our neck of the woods. And what an epic celebration of love; a privilege to be part of. Lauren & Bryan, we had so much fun hanging out with you yesterday! Thank you so much for putting your trust in us to organise this day. Here’s to a lifetime of adventure, love & laughter ❤️ #margaretriverelopements #wildelopements #elopewesternaustralia #margaretriverwedding #margaretriverweddingphotographer

No big wedding, no fuss, just 10 years of love, our vows, and a day made entirely for them. We explored stunning locations, captured beautiful moments, and laughed along the way. Fully present, totally themselves, and having the absolute best time in WA!

Kia ora, Millie here one last time. Creating aerial shots is truly my passion. But at the centre of that, is connection with people. I’m grateful to create relationships from this work and continue to build supportive community. It can be a lonely journey, but I’ve always wanted to create something bigger than myself and when I meet people who create space for just that - that’s what keeps the beating heart of this industry going (in my humble opinion). That’s also what excites me about having a heavy-lift rig, it creates more opportunities to collaborate with more people as it simply needs more crew to operate. In such a small country, and especially during hard times, connecting with one another couldn’t be more important. It’s a hard industry and it’s been pretty brutal at times. Covid, strikes, recession etc. It’s people that keeps you going - friends, family, partners, work mates. Keep connecting, and keep creating. ♾️

He aha te mea nui o te ao?

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.

Thank you for having me 🖤 you can find more of my work at @studioinfinitum @milliecossou

I declare that today is 2nd AC Appreciation Day. Just like how Mother’s and Father’s Day really SHOULD be everyday, these unsung heroes also deserve a dedicated day on the calendar.

While 1st ACs know that they’re usually only going to get attention when the shot is soft, a good 2nd AC is invisible all the time. Where’d that mark come from? The slate appears from no where as I press record then promptly vanishes. One moment I’m craving a coffee and the next I’m being handed one -among less important ‘Can you get me the -oh, thank you’ moments through out the day.

We 1sts do get kudos for our focus and leadership contributions, but where would any of us be without the foundation laid by our 2nds? Some of my greatest learnings as a baby 1st were provided by career 2nds in LA -which is a career path I’d love to see more people taking up in New Zealand

So here’s to all the 2nds out there! Our co-pilots, partners in crime, and friend in the trenches (sometimes literally), who silently and stealthily keep the wheels turning and the ship pointed in the right direction. Can I get another -oh, thank you!

1. In the trenches with @ainsley.calderwood, her last 2nd AC job before moving up to being a badass 1st AC, Auckland, 2021
2. A Day in the Life of a 2nd AC Slide from my Workshop
3. @karlamariechristensen 2nding on a music video with me in LA ca 2016 -she’s now a top 1st AC
4. Keeping the DP dry and happy
5. Who says 2nding can’t be glamorous? ‘Stuck in the Middle’, LA 2015
6. Tower Insurance TVC, Auckland 2023
7. C Cam team screen Grab, Auckland 2021
8. On location in Arizona, ‘Desert’ 2017
9. Putting goggly eyes everything waiting for talent -2nds win at camera crafts, LA 2017
10. Long time 2nd Angela Ortner slating on ‘A Boy Called Po’ in 2015
11-13. Keeping the gear and vehicles shoot ready
14. Stealing shots in Venice Beach, LA 2015
15. Tuning the Ronin, ‘Mystic’ Auckland 2020
16. Always have a good time with your teammates. ‘After the Party’ Wellington, 2023

Oh 2024… you were a wild ride to put it mildly. But even when you were being an asshole, you still gave me plenty to smile about and plenty of people to smile with. And for that I’m very grateful.

Alright 2025… let’s see what you got…
