☀️ Fiona Appreciation Post ☀️

In a season where injury kept her off the starting line, Fiona still found a way to be an invaluable part of this team.

Recording splits, biking alongside long runs and workouts, translating Coach Fox’s questionable shorthand, and helping strategize the season—she has been there for her teammates every step of the way.

Through every setback, she’s continued to bring the same sunny disposition, positive attitude, and willingness to help that make her such a special part of this program.

Fiona, you may have missed the season on the course, but you made a lasting impact off it. We’re so lucky to have you, and we can’t wait to see what you can do on the track! 🫶🐾

I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to run Division 1 Cross Country and Track & Field at Bryant University.

I want to thank my teammates and coaches who have supported me along this journey. Especially Coaches Janet, Blasko, Kim, Grzela , Givogue, Brewin, Jen and Laura. None of this would be possible without the support, dedication, and effort you all put in to help me become a better athlete.

To my family, thank you for being my biggest supporters and for standing by my side throughout this journey.

I would also like to thank Coach Fox and Coach Switzer for giving me this amazing opportunity!

I am so excited to continue my athletic and academic career as a
Bulldog!

GO BULLDOGS!!💛🐾🐶

Fall foliage and a full day together in Vermont 🍁 🐾🍂

Cross country doesn’t always give us many opportunities to experience a meet together when we’re racing in separate pieces, so days like this are special.

With none of our top seven racing, today was an opportunity for others to step up and experience being point scorers. Five of our 13 racers came away with PRs, while others took advantage of a beautiful bike path for an easy little 18-miler. You know, casual Sunday activities. 😁

After our annual team photo, we stopped in Burlington for dinner, ice cream, shopping, and all the fall Vermont vibes. #dawgson3familyon6

New England Championships. Resetting the standard.

Yesterday at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds, BOTH teams delivered their highest finish in Bryant history (by 2 spots) at the NEICAAA New England Championships!

🐾 MEN: 5th place — the highest finish in program history.

🥉 WOMEN: 3rd place — a plaque, a podium finish, and a spot behind only Boston College and Providence in a field of 18 teams.

The women put THREE in the top 15, and across both teams, we came away with 10 PRs. 🔥

Pretty special things happening with this group. Proud of the work, the grit, and the way these Bulldogs continue to raise the bar.

3 weeks until conferences.

“It’s the time of the season for love…” 🎶

And honestly, if you know me, you already know where this is going. As the head men’s and women’s XC coach, I am clearly biased, but this is the best season hands down.

Today was one of those perfect cool, crisp autumn days, and the leaves are officially turning. True fall is upon us.

And on National Coaches Day, I’m feeling pretty damn blessed to have the most incredible group of athletes to coach. I’m even finally back running with them some days, which makes this season feel even better.

Grateful for the chaos, the miles, the laughs, the lessons, and this speedy group of humans. I couldn’t have found a better career.🍁🍂

If there’s one thing this group has mastered this season, it’s making a Plan B look suspiciously like Plan A. 😂

We’ve had a couple of unexpected pivots already this year…including one workout where a high school meet came in and we had to move locations right as we were about to start. Every time, this group has handled it like champs: staying positive, staying focused, and continuing to bring a high level of effort.

Yesterday was supposed to be our big race effort for our top crew at Paul Short. They had traveled since 5:30am the day before. Pre-meet on the course. Electrolytes all week. Nutrition dialed in. Naps at the hotel. Locked. In.

Friends and family had traveled near and far to watch them race. (✈️🫢)

And then…

Paul Short-ed the Run. 🫠

All afternoon races were canceled due to the heat. So naturally, we found a crushed-stone rail trail and ran one hell of a mile-repeat workout instead.

They could have been frustrated. They could have checked out. Instead, they pivoted, stayed positive, and attacked the workout with the same focus and effort they had planned to bring to the race.

We got home at 11pm last night. 42 hours. Pennsylvania. Zero races. Two very long travel days. One hell of a workout. Could not be more proud of this group. ❤️🐾
